Ye gods! The fact that this was done by hand... I have no words.
MOD is Music Tracker MODule file format, not the UK Ministry of Defence.
Looks good - is there a way to play back?
Now that's writing.
Oy vey.
Windows only? :-(
Yup - pretty obvious.

* Backfired * :-D
Re:The AirPods Effect on Saturday June 20, 2026 @07:14AM (#48608366)
They are useful for blocking the obnoxious sounds that modern life impose upon us. The largest consumer hardware chain in Australia, 'Bunnings', plays a notice over the store loudspeakers regularly (perhaps every 15-30 minutes) warning that violence against staff will not be tolerated.

I'm not in any way an anxious person, but for some reason, the constant suggestion that I'm in a place where violence is a risk makes me feel upset so much that I don't visit my local store without my noise-cancelling AirPods.

I typed my boss' name in and it returned:

"No stable person found"...

Is this where Smurfs (Smurves?) came from?

Why design a website with the box on the bottom left covering the text you want us to read? Crazy.
Yet "tc" does?
Re:Font Rendering from First Principles on Friday February 13, 2026 @06:24PM (#47009234)
Too long an article (about type!) to be in white monospace text on a black background.
I think packetlost knows that. I think the argument being put forward was that "if you are the kind of person that thinks that speech is violence, then you would believe that allowing someone a platform..."
Tell us more.
Not a good document. Needs a faded picture of a dragon on every page.
Re:What Vivian Maier saw in color on Monday March 03, 2025 @02:00AM (#43239047)
"At the end of its operations, Blue Ghost will stay put, destined to remain on the moon’s surface indefinitely."

Is that a euphemism for "Humans are leaving rubbish to pollute another part of the universe?"

Edited - never mind, this is obviously random strings of characters.
Re:The closure of a Methodist chapel on Tyneside on Tuesday March 26, 2024 @09:52PM (#39834929)
What kind of activities could they do that would appeal to you (and other young people like you)?

I've moved across the world 4 times in my adult life. Every time I have made deeper and faster community connections by joining a local church than through any other means.
Re:Show HN: I made an app to use local AI as daily driver on Saturday March 02, 2024 @12:49AM (#39570169)
This is disappointing. Anything similar available for Intel Macs?
Re:Bluesky has launched RSS feeds on Monday January 15, 2024 @09:21PM (#39008646)
That was my experience with Mastodon. Discussions tended to turn shrill and regularly be dominated by extremes.

Have you ever read ‘The Monkey Wrench’, by Gordon Dickson?

Yes, the Homebrew message does seem unnecessarily hostile. Not everyone can afford to buy a brand new computer every year.
