Can someone comment on the AirPods tweet making the rounds (i.e. the subvocal killer)? I am excited by Subvocal, but am wondering how much bespoke hardware is actually required?

makes sense! was curious to see if there is any deepseek 4.1 flash class model that could concievably run well on the newer machines. muse glimmer, will haave to check that out!

I’ve been using Vercel’s Eve it’s really lovely for an agent that lives on a server somewhere (no affiliation)

Ask HN: Alternative to Tldraw Draw Fast?

I’ve been looking for a tool that can translate rough sketches on my iPad to higher fidelity wireframes or illustrations in near real time. has anyone found such a tool? The closest was Tldraw that shuttered their Draw Fast experiment in 2024. Thank you!

My reaction to AI generated websites and READMEs: I ain’t reading all of that - but happy for you, or sorry it happened

Ask HN: How do you get AI loops to converge?

For any arbitrary coding task, how can a Ralph loop break out of a local minima and converge, such that, even if the loop runs again, there are no tasks left to complete? These tasks are somewhat non-deterministic due to cross-interactions which make their stop conditions hard to define ahead of time (e.g a complex GUI)I want to learn more resources for loop engineering, deterministic tooling...

13 whole executive orders! And here I thought there were only 12!
Can't wait for the next generation of e-ink picture frames, Spectra 6 just doesn't cut it yet I'm afraid
Re:Any window from your Mac, on your iPhone and iPad on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:19AM (#50114786)
Also consider Astropad Workbench. This app doesn't get talked about enough in AI circles but the performance is top notch (no affiliation)
Hasn’t this always been the case with forks?
Re:Fastmail – Grouped Mailbox on Thursday October 08, 2026 @01:44AM (#50002147)
Notable functionality similar to Google Inbox (RIP) or Shortwave

An actual use case for Jev?
Re:I don't like passkeys on Friday September 18, 2026 @01:39PM (#49757672)
Passkeys in bitwarden have been working pretty well for me overall. Website support is still spotty. Sometimes passkey logins won’t work, or other times the website will still ask for a “third” factor code.

For less tech savvy folks, passkeys are a godsend since they don’t have to remember passwords or fish around for codes

Finally a fast solution to isOdd / isEven :) /s
Re:Show HN: Pelican-bicycle alternatives (updated for 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @02:04PM (#49701204)
Anyone else surprised the generations look so remarkably similar? All of these models have “independently” generalized that the moose should roughly be standing at the same position (left) or that the giraffe should have a certain color palette.
I used scratch in cs50 to make a music platformer. I would say it led me down a career in computing
Re:KOReader on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @11:59AM (#49099209)
BookFusion recently introduced a KOReader plugin (no affiliation). Combining that with a Kobo has finally let me break free of the Kindle ecosystem

How are they going to scan for LLM use? Oh wait..

Sure it’s not “Gemini AI Pro Max Duo Notebooks for Workspace Personal”? /s
Re:Apple is about to make Hide My Email useless on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @08:05PM (#48564059)
I highly recommend either SimpleLogin or Fastmail aliases. The latter are superior because they can be used to reply directly to any received email without needing to set up reverse aliases.

When you own your own domain, the switching cost between providers is small. You can make a dedicated domain just for aliases

Both SimpleLogin and Fastmail have excellent integration with password managers as well

I can’t reconcile the super intelligence koolaid with the objectively bad performance of Claude code. Surely they could have used their “too powerful to release” model to vibe better performance? with a few skills thrown in for good measure. Heck, even throw in an auto research loop
Re:VoidZero Is Joining Cloudflare on Thursday June 04, 2026 @10:51AM (#48399565)
Well at least this time we don’t have to worry about them rewriting their tooling in Rust
Re:GTA 6 Developers Unionize on Friday May 29, 2026 @03:50PM (#48328305)
As GTA V before it, 6 probably has 20 years worth of content updates ahead. Might as well be well compensated for it.
Re:Does Anybody Actually Like React? on Tuesday May 26, 2026 @03:06AM (#48276155)
A post about React?! Nature is healing
Levie’s Law of AI Psychosis
IMO the killer feature of tailwind is that it lives alongside your React components so you keep things DRY, and you get a design system with type and spacing scales out of the box. It’s a form of constraint that helps create structure. But I think that makes it a victim of its own success. The tailwind spec becomes ever more complicated the more native CSS features it tries to include. I’ve seen tailwind incantations go way beyond editor wrap line

I still like it though. it’s one of those abstractions that actually helped me learn. I would go to the tailwind doc pages and see the underlying css of any class.

There were some other frameworks I got excited about: vanilla extract and stitches, both made by some really talented people. I wonder why those never quite got the same traction…
