Re:ZLIB-TURBO: Zlib, faster, and byte for byte the same on Friday October 16, 2026 @11:44PM (#50127716)
Ok, why is it faster? Whats the trade-off?
But it looks like something that works. For most of people who hype it up it's enough
The only way to stop these is to fine BK. Or else the discussion will drift toward discussing the malicious hacker instead of the malicious cybersec

At least we know it wasn't written by a bot

I've never used any of the stuff you've released for free, but in the name of those who did use it -thank you

Re:Google no longer provides direct URLs in search results on Saturday September 12, 2026 @04:15AM (#49670171)
Is it a move to sell more of the paid Google Search API calls? If so, that's a sign of distress.

Surely, the cost of serving search results to bots isn't that high

Putting together all I know about tokenminning. Point your agent at it.

1. Prompt hygiene (schema over prose, make no mistake) 2. Cache whenever you can 3. Context hygiene (seriously, start a new chat, it doesn't take much) 4. Routing 5. Control max_tokens, be smart about RAG 6. Semantic caching

What works for you?

Ask HN: Why is cache for DeepSeek-v4 cheapest on Vercel AI Gateway?

Do they charge below their cost? Or do they run their own cache?Vercel cache read: $0.01/M for flash, $0.14/M for pro.Deepseek and OpenRouter cache read: $0.028/M for flash, $0.145 for pro. That's a 64% discount on Vercel for flash, and a 3% discount for pro.Links: Vercel - https://vercel.com/ai-gateway/models OpenRouter - https://openrouter.ai/deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash
