The article is about Bluesky, but what I find hard to believe is that Threads has almost twice the MAU compared to X?.. I’ve never met a person that uses Threads in any capacity. Never even heard anyone mention about anything on Threads.

Are these numbers skewed somehow?

Re:What xAI's Grok Build CLI Actually Sends to xAI on Sunday July 12, 2026 @01:49AM (#48878673)
It would be extremely naive to assume Elon, or even a real human had a hand in this. The whole analytics pipeline is very likely vibecoded and never reviewed by a human.

93% owned by the founder.
Doesn’t matter much in this case as US consumerd are still affected by the price rise same way consumers in a non-exporter country would be.

I guess what matters is that the increase in revenue largely stays within the country, but that doesn’t help consumers directly.

Re:Things C++26 define_static_array can't do on Tuesday April 28, 2026 @02:07PM (#47938173)
C++ people are great at making problems for themselves and then solving them to no end.

This does not look like a productive way to get things done.

Re:Unifi Travel Router on Wednesday December 24, 2025 @06:10AM (#46374541)
79$ is not “high end”. 5G enabled router would cost twice as much - for a feature that not everybody will need.
I’ve never heard of it before. I work in an embedded environment where kernel version is known beforehand, so portability won’t be an issue. Thanks.
Of all the quirks with process spawning in posix keeping file descriptors open is the most problematic one I encountered. This bit into my ass while implementing a C library to have proper process spawning and stdio handling in LUA. I really wish file descriptors were non inheritable by default.
Interesting how I could instantly tell that this was written by AI. CharGPT has a very distinguishable style and reasoning.
Please elaborate.
Look up stalinist architecture if you think communists can’t build beautiful buildings. For peak capitalism, look no further than Art Deco. My point is that this is a difference between pre-war and post-war construction and is seen in all regions, across all political ideologies and economic systems. The ugly communist buildings you speak of were born out of necessity, due to chronic shortage of housing, a rise in fertility and urbanisation on a scale never seen before, much the same way as the urban catastrophe that is suburbs in the US.
I would wonder what would happen whenever I was frustrated and now I know, thanks. I'll look for a new intrusive thought to have as a coping mechanism.
Re:Z-Library Returns on the Clearnet in Full Hydra-Mode on Monday February 13, 2023 @01:30PM (#34777919)
How did they take it down the domain last time? Was it by picking on the registrar?

In my country they so this by asking all the ISPs to block the domain from their DNS servers. This works for 90% of the population, but all you have to do is just change the DNS server to something other than what the ISP gives you and you’re good to go.

Also, I just don’t get how current approach is any better. As far as I understand, there’s still a single point of failure, i.e. the site you get your “personal” domain from.

I expect the current orders to be PR motivated.

No-one shipped jobs overseas. m of the teams at UI have always been and remain located in the EU.
Re:Lithuania evacuates its embassy in China on Sunday December 19, 2021 @11:51AM (#29615538)
Fun fact, Ubiquiti started here (it’s not a Lithuanian company though). Another big one that’s founded and manufactures all it’s stuff in Lithuania is Teltonika. They make telecommunications equipment (mostly LTE based wireless modems).
I like brand new baby smell. But as soon as it stops smelling like it was assembled in China the novelty wears off.
Re:Fisher Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth on Wednesday December 01, 2021 @03:01PM (#29408446)
Yeah, but someone in your home might have a rogue phone app installed (or not even that, I bet companies like Xiaomi already so this with their smart home stuff) that scans bluetooth devices and sends the addresses so that they can be data mined.
Re:Fisher Price Chatter Telephone with Bluetooth on Wednesday December 01, 2021 @10:04AM (#29404275)
Bluetooth uses MAC addresses too, so this still applies.
It's a beta firmware - you need to have a community account with "Early Access" feature turned on in order to see the release thread or be able to purchase early access hardware.
Thet are very common in Lithuania, to the point where I’d say around 20% of new phones being sold are from Xiaomi. They expanded heavily into other industries, like home automation, with prices that are a fraction of what other manufacturers would ask for their hardware.
Really depends on the type of house you live in. Typical heating costs for 50m^2 apartments in “Khrushchevka” type buildings (probably the dominant housing situation across most post soviet states) should be around 50 Euros per month this heating season in Lithuania. Average state pension is around 400 euros, so on average, heating should be 12.5% of that.
Question from a layman: how will the energy from a fusion reactor be extracted and converted into electrical energy? As far as I understand, the plasma inside a tokamak is isolated from the surroundings by the use of very powerful magnets. I assume in a reactor that is supposed to generate electricity there would be some interface between the plasma and some kind of heat exchanger that would generate steam and turn gas turbines?
Re:Vaccination blunts, but does not defeat Delta on Tuesday August 17, 2021 @09:25AM (#28209561)
What you should hope to be invented is better vaccines/treatment.
Re:Vaccination blunts, but does not defeat Delta on Tuesday August 17, 2021 @09:23AM (#28209545)
That's not a sign of good hygiene, rather a sign of these countries dystopian work laws/ethics, where sick leave is apparently not a thing.
Re:Vaccination blunts, but does not defeat Delta on Tuesday August 17, 2021 @09:16AM (#28209480)
I wonder what is the mutation mode of viruses regarding vaccines? Does harsher environment (more people with immunity) spur mutation, or is mutation frequency correlating with number of infected people?
Also, a ridiculous review of these by AvE (a channel I recommend to anyone who’s mechanically inclined): https://youtu.be/ySw0IHIwQ3s
Are you referring to V2 as to the German WW2 rocket? What’s exciting about it nowadays?
