Sheesh. I'm surprised nobody announced how difficult it is to toggle some checkboxes for disabling the completely unintrusive crypto features of Brave in this thread.
Trump is single handedly doing all of the things, with nobody backing or should I say black-mailing him.

I think he wrote all of those executive orders that he signed on his first week too.

This orange guy is so bad, it's all his fault that everything is happening. Let's keep focusing on the orange lightning rod.

What about, how the ask is completely nonsensical and incoherent?

It also came with a request for no-downvotes... What's next? A request for only responses that agree with me?

Here's my request: Upvotes only. Please don't respond.

Which US Administration said or did anything to prevent every US corporation from trading their manufacturing secrets for cheap labor, to the totalitarian country that they're all allegedly wringing their hands over for us?

Which one stopped the CIA from overthrowing democratic elections in other countries right from their inception, starting with Italy in the 50s and continuing with Operation Gladio all throughout Europe and moving into Southeast Asia as they worked with criminal groups to perfect their narco funded guerrilla warfare machine?

Did Trump even catch up to the number of bombs that "peace prize" Obama dropped in 8 years?

There are no sides, there's just a corporate Uniparty putting on some theater for you and you can absolutely prove that out if you dig past surface material and surface thinking.

Elon Musk is racist to the type of people who would require me to sign a statement supporting their systematically racist hiring quota if I want to do some physics research.

The LLM is clearly better. I'd rather go back and forth with an emotionless computer to find the truth than to beat my head against a brick wall trying to get some radical emotional-logic driven University activist professor (or one of their inculcated stooges) to stop lying to me.
I liked Bill Maher's response to it. He should have also mentioned the 650 things that were renamed from 2020 to 2024 for purely political reasons.

Apple is renaming the lake on Apple Maps too. So, 100% of those people who switched to MapQuest are still adding to AppleGoogle's revenue which must be disappointing to them, but if this somehow leads to popular support for a new platform or even more-web-fewer-apps, I'll be super glad for that.

Do people really think DHH is a white supremacist? I'd love to see a shred of supporting evidence that amounts to more than a disagreement about rapid immigration, integration, and cultural identity.

Didn't John Cleese already explain the difference between a culturalist and a racist?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend any Linux distro other than Manjaro with XFCE, for a non-expert, because it just works and installing software is a breeze with Manjaro's graphical UI (pamac).

I've been running various Linux desktops since the late 90s and every single distro without exception has eaten itself from updates...except for Manjaro which I've been running exclusively now since 2018 without so much as a hiccup.

Two-week old packages is nothing. The most popular Linux distributions aren't even rolling distributions and they'll have you using packages that are years old.

I see no code there to automatically pick D1 for the DB when you deploy to Cloudflare.

On Cloudflare, it should use the `@neondatabase/serverless` driver configured here https://github.com/typebase-io/monorepo/blob/fa3af0b71126caa...

> I guess if your goal is just to get any reaction, it was good, since it definitely stirred up annoyance in me?

Do you think that my goal is only to get a reaction and not to try and make any other point? I think someone who was "just" trying to get a reaction probably would just curse at you or do something else. Reactions are signals though and annoyance in particular is a very useful signal, hopeful to the one who experiences it. More importantly though, why, when you responded to me the first time, did you not address the very obvious non-rhetorical variant of my question though and instead, decide to appeal to me with sarcasm about the profundity of the rhetorical variant?

I'm trying to engage here and not put my trauma on display so I'll try to be as straightforward as I can. I am sincerely trying to respond in kind to you by telling you the truth and I will be glad to explain, in detail, my point of view. So, let me do that:

> GP is equivocating two things...but did not give any reasons why...

Yes. And I had hoped to correct that equivocation by pointing out the many random and/or automated processes that produce beautiful or otherwise enjoyable things. I wasn't agreeing with GP, I was improving the position. And I did, because very many useful things are created without any human interaction.

> fundamentally misunderstanding the arguments brought against AI media

Okay and you haven't engaged with the point that I'm making at all. It's different than the GP's. You also haven't given me any reasoning to backup your point that I am fundamentally misunderstanding the arguments brought against AI media. You want reasons why and I want reasons why. Let's engage in a civil manner.

The point that we're engaging on, really, is not the GP's. It's what computerliker said about how "a computer can never be sad or horny or have taste. it can only make product" and that "having less media [created] by a computer is a loss".

Nothing to misunderstand there and I disagree strongly on both the implications of the first and the conclusion of the second quote. That's what I'm attempting to address and not every possible argument ever made about AI creations.

So, do you still think that I'm misunderstanding something? Also, what about my point? Do we really want fewer things created by random and/or automated processes simply because a human didn't create them? I don't think so.

Re:Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash on Saturday August 29, 2026 @09:21AM (#49489690)
Nope. That is what's called a rhetorical question and a pretty good one because obviously it stirred some emotion in you.

Was your question supposed to be profound? Surely someone has explained to you that record players don't compose music.

Perhaps you could be a little more charitable and less toxic here and answer my obviously non-rhetorical question: Why shouldn't I enjoy things that were created through an automatic process? Hmm?

I enjoy looking at beautiful rock formations. I am also thankful for the Sun and the Moon.

Who made those?

What's wrong with Automated Intelligence (TM) making things for me to enjoy?
