Lambda container would be the closest equivalent with that functionality, https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/images-create.h...
The AWS equivalent to Cloud Run and Container Apps is called Fargate, https://aws.amazon.com/fargate/
One example would be anybody who deals with lots of data transfer, like video editing. Accelerating that with a better cable can really add up.

Was ready to buy this until I saw it is a subscription, not stand-alone.

You still need a Mac with Xcode
Are you sure this removes the ability to perform ANY software update? As far as I can interpret from this email this just seems to remove the ability to perform the update remotely.
In Ontario it is regulation to be able to obtain any of your car parts that got replaced, I wonder if it’s possible to request the old battery…

In this case, not enough people know/care how to cook.
This is an integration with Apple Wallet and Apple Pay, so it does indeed go beyond a regular app.
The issue is in the combination of data. Could you imagine the value of knowing if your heart rate went up after reading a certain message, or seeing a certain ad?

Trackers have existed for a while, but the privacy preserving ad-hoc device network approach is definitely an innovation.

Was it ever named “relentless” at some point? I’ve heard that was the original name, relentless.com still redirects to Amazon.com.
Re:Synology vs. Nextcloud – Which Is Better for a Home Server? on Saturday November 28, 2020 @12:20PM (#25238841)
Synology is proprietary but not SaaS... just software. Only subscription I'm aware of them offering is storage per month for offsite backup.
The premise of essentially proxying customers into a major carrier in aggregate to preserve privacy is an interesting one.

I use such a service for home internet in Ottawa, Canada (https://ncf.ca) and it’s been working great - with much better customer service.

Does this include a lease of a phone unit?
Re:Luna – Cloud gaming service on Thursday September 24, 2020 @04:07PM (#24582995)
Records were exclusively owned. Theaters and DVD rentals were never subscriptions, they were rentals.

We had game rentals too. Either way, I would argue that the shift from rentals and subscriptions based around exchangeable physical goods, to an exclusively streamed experience is a big shift, and a big deal.

Just for accuracy, Project is available as a subscription.

There are currently several mastodon clients available on the App Store, like Tootle and Amaroq. Hopeful that they stay up, we'll see.
This does highlight how important the relative freedom of Android is. This is unfortunate but it does not stop the ability for people to load the APKs or get them off of F-Droid.

That being said, imagine if this happened on the Apple App Store...

Re:When I raised my B2B SaaS’s prices on Sunday August 02, 2020 @06:01PM (#24032149)
I also think that this can motivate new sales. If I know I’m locking in my price with a company, I’m more motivated to buy now.
