Re:Google Docs will now use canvas based rendering on Thursday May 13, 2021 @06:08AM (#27140451)
All text in the example document[1] is blurry on Firefox 89.0b11 (Linux) with a 4k display at 2x scaling.

Anyone else having the same problem?

So, your argument is that with the exception of cases where a car is more dangerous than a bike - both are equally dangerous. You don't say.

They are still there, but they've changed the UI and removed the lesson permalinks, so it's now harder to both find and use these explanations.

Click on a lesson's circle and there is now a lightbulb icon which opens the detailed lesson.

Re:Show HN: I Made a (Firefox) Tab Groups Replacement on Monday February 05, 2018 @11:15AM (#16309698)
I should highlight the fact that this started as a fork of another add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/panorama-view...

I've added tab hiding, moveable/resizeable groups, support for pinned tabs and a few other things. The goal is to make it feel as close as possible to the original Tab Panorama.

It also breaks the built-in screenshots: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1412961

Try this: From the "Inspector" tab, click on any CSS file in order to open the Style Editor. Loading the file and then scrolling to the relevant part is much slower than Chrome if you do this on a page with several stylesheets.

If only they'd put discrete PgUp/PgDn/Home/End keys instead of making people use Fn+arrows.
Re:Tree Style Tabs Extension Ported to Firefox 57 on Wednesday September 27, 2017 @05:51AM (#15346226)
The developer of this alternative - https://github.com/denschub/firefox-tabgroups - has said that they will port the add-on to a WebExtension, but they are waiting on this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1384515

I switched to bitwarden. I'm more worried about Tab Groups than LastPass.

You can backup/restore Signal Desktop conversations from the Dev Tools console:

`Whisper.Backup.backupToDirectory()`

`Whisper.Backup.importFromDirectory()`

I'd be fine with Gutenberg being delayed until next year if this means a switch away from React.
IMO, one of the major EU-related things that people are not aware of is that the European Parliament doesn't possess legislative initiative. EU laws are initiated by the European Commission (or) at the request of one or more member states.
That's good news, I've missed that.

Does userChrome.css work with e10s? I remember that there were some issues with that in the past.

I also switched from Chrome to Firefox about a year ago and the fat tabs are the only thing that I don't like. The removal of `browser.tabs.tabMinWidth` is very annoying (now you need to create a new CSS file in your profile directory, but there is hardly any documentation for that). Also, 15px of the total tab width are taken by ellipses when the tab title is truncated.

There are add-ons which claim to fix that, but they always change other stuff as well. I just want to get rid of the ellipses and make the tabs take up at most 50-60px. The current 100px-wide tabs have roughly 8px of horizontal padding, 16px favicon, another 8px of whitespace, 40px title, 15px ellipses, and then even more whitespace on the right.

Re:Short array syntax finally in PHP 5.4 on Sunday July 24, 2011 @05:35PM (#2800403)
Right, but wouldn't that make PHP code too good looking? The core devs wouldn't allow it ;)

My only wish is that they implement something that evaluates {} to (object)array(). It would come in handy when used with anonymous functions.

Anyway, I am pleased with the new syntax, but sadly, I have to use 5.2 as most of the time I'm working on WordPress projects...

Re:What RSS reader do you use, and what does it lack? on Sunday July 10, 2011 @05:01PM (#2748619)
I use Google Reader, the keyboard shortcuts are great. I'd like to have native unread count in the favicon like gmail. Other problem is that the feeds don't refresh automatically (or better, just appending new content without a refresh).
