Honestly, if a community wants to be made of a particular homogeneous ethnicity or race it'd be much better if they were very up-front about it. Its fine, not everyone needs to be multi-cultural or multi-ethnic.
I'm looking at examples like Japan, they make it very difficult for outsiders to integrate, see the various "Gaijin" articles out there. I'm OK with this, Japan is up-front about it, you don't get to a case where you immigrate to Japan and the locals start complaining about losing their "ways".
Really, just say up front, only WASP's allowed.
Hitting 30 seems to be the benchmark point. The "What have you done with your life so far, its all down hill from here" moment.
Its not just the regular folk, we get essays from far more accomplished folk like sama as well. [1]

Having a electric car revolution of a mass scale would be great thing. China has a much higher population density compared to most parts of the world, an affordable electric car starting from China will attack the problem from the other end. The high-end being Tesla, the low-end being Faraday or any other manufacturer.
I look forward to what this Chinese billionaire does in this space.
It goes back to the days where DEC, NCR, IBM etc... came with entire portfolios of competing implementations, none of which interoperated with each other. IBM for example also had the "Insurmountable Platform Advantage", it had the full stack ... literally, from sillion, chip design, operating-systems all the way up to software-services, but the industry lost out due to big blue's big-iron prices and the pc clone-wars began.
I don't see what the pc clone-wars are in this case, android doesn't seem to make much of dent in apple's profits here.
I find the "go the fuck home" strategy works for projects where output can be correlated with time spent. I'm in a situation where we're in new terrain, we're hitting problems that haven't been encountered before in our space. To fix them properly, I need to do a deep dive and fix the root cause, this takes time, time which seems to never exist.
Its quite insulting when someone says, "You can't get done this between 9-5, so you're incapable of doing this job."
Have you guys been in this type of a grind? I'm not sure how to deal with this right now other than fixing the core issues and moving on, which basically means working even more.
