Re:Who Needs Git When You Got ZFS? on Wednesday June 04, 2014 @08:17AM (#7845102)
Maintaining versions of files is only one of the many things that GIT does. How in the world does ZFS handles collaboration, merging, branches and a thousand other things that are handled by GIT.

This looks more like Notational Velocity and definitely not anything like Evernote

not just 10.9.3, entire 10.9.x is the crappiest OSX of all times ! So many stability issues.

Nostolgia ... I remember those days.

Developers try so hard these days to implement push notifications from their apps & services and boast about all the IFTTT stuff.

Carries here in India used to provide email-to-sms as a free service. You would just send an email to [email protected] and that message would be sent to PhoneNo as an SMS (160 chars from subject).

Now a days if you want to send a message, you need to have developer accounts, install Software on the devices to receive the notifications, need to have a data connection on the phone, talk to push notifications clouds and a few other things.

API ?
For some one using PDF.js (which works great both on Chrome & Firefox) for my company's enterprise app - does this matter much ?
Nice !

This is going to make a big difference. For many, the setting up and launching part is a boring routine that they go through so often. I think the flat pricing model is the best part.

If you are looking for a reliable way to send push notifications from your apps, use telegram instead of whatsapp. Checkout https://beeper.in
Whatsapp will detect in a few days that you are not using one of its blessed clients and will block you.
Try Beeper - https://beeper.in It uses Telegram to send your push notifications.

Show HN: Beeper – send push notifications via Telegram from your apps

https://beeper.in

Beeper makes it easy to send push notifications from your apps to your Telegram Peers.<p>I have yet to work on the first-run experience (i know @patio11, but i have to validate my product first) and other minor things like 'Change Password' in user login.<p>I have added only 3 API commands to begin with (add peer, send message, list peers), more will be added very...

What is your current advertising budget.

If your current revenue is the result of minimal / no advertising then why not try allocation a little more funds there and see the results.

Is there any scope for improvement to your product other than bug fixes ?

Now lets talk about "Don't be Evil!"

Ask HN: Locking Android Tablets - How fool proof is it?

I am the IT manager for a large retailer. We are thinking of purchasing hundreds of Android tablets for our workforce instead of low end laptops, what we used to buy traditionally. The primary use for these devices would be to capture data related to budgeting and Purchase orders and using our ERP tools. As we do not want the staff to use the provided tablets for playing games and facebook and...

You might want to disclose your product (URL if you have one) or at least the idea. Some one from HN might be interested in taking up the position.
Re:Ask HN: Open source an abandoned Mac app for mockups? on Saturday February 15, 2014 @04:50AM (#7243264)
You can sell the source code for some one interested to take it up and develop further as a commercial product. Just OpenSourcing your code does not guarantee the success of the project.

e-junkie has been doing this for ages. But considering the service is free at the moment, it might gain some traction.
