Re:People who own businesses should not act like assholes on Wednesday February 20, 2019 @10:52AM (#19208816)
What you are describing is to some level the essence of consulting/contracting or at least folks that are in that industry. This type of abuser/abusee relationship in business is prevalent all over the place especially to defer blame when things go south (paying for someone to essentially take the blame) and also defer decision making . thanks for the food for thought.
Is there a website you can type a company name in and address and find all relevant regulators ?

Are there some go to standards for API design that are followed?
Re:You are dangerously bad at cryptography on Monday May 27, 2013 @07:42PM (#5777180)
That makes sense in terms of no standard libraries. But how about design patterns for common scenarios, eg. securing REST apis, User authentication/Login/Signup, Payment information handling etc, all in one place.

Does it become less secure if everyone follows standard design patterns?

Re:You are dangerously bad at cryptography on Monday May 27, 2013 @07:40PM (#5777172)
Thanks. These are straight crypto frameworks which are a good start.

Re:New cameras to watch cameras that watch you on Friday September 14, 2012 @02:16PM (#4523131)
The price point is carefully thought out. Its high enough to make a profit but low enough that most people won't go out of their way to fight the ticket in court etc.
Re:New cameras to watch cameras that watch you on Friday September 14, 2012 @02:14PM (#4523126)
This is actually a problem in the area this article is from. In maryland the yellow light is much shorter then in virginia, therefore maryland drivers tend to stop at yellow lights in virginia which causes lots of close stopping of drivers behind . If safety was really a concern then there would be a more narrower range of allowed yellow light duration between counties and states. As far as the speed cameras are concerned they only reduce speed for a very short distance once everyone knows where they are, its a pure profit motive.
Re:Google Fiber Plans & Pricing on Thursday July 26, 2012 @01:22PM (#4297290)
on Point 2: How is this any different then today with Comcast/Verizon etc..?
Re:Google Fiber Plans & Pricing on Thursday July 26, 2012 @01:13PM (#4297224)
The rally concept is pretty neat. If your fiberhood gets enough registrations you will get the next install batch plus all schools, government buildings and other public establishments will get gigabit in your fiberhood.
Re:Google Fiber Plans & Pricing on Thursday July 26, 2012 @01:01PM (#4297101)
During the live event it was mentioned that premium channels will be available at an extra charge per month. Google wanted to simplify the cable line up as much as possible.
