No worries. There's no clear cut reason for that limitation, it's just there.
You're only allowed to use .caf, .aif, or .wav files.

We just released an iPhone app that's 2.2mb. We're trying to cut down the audio .caf (.5mb now) to make it more efficient. Any ideas?
Seems like Video Egg and Pinch Media are meant for established high volume traffic players. AdMob is more for true startups.
I hear you, so much to do, so little time. That's why I said your app is dangerous. People can easily sit there for a while going through the rumor mill instead of coding:)
Appreciate your offer, would love to have a few people to compare notes with on this. Right now working on getting our app through the door.
Like your idea - dangerous time consumer!
I do like their tone so I have written them. I just find it a bit disappointing that these ad networks expect you to sign up without knowing what the advertising rates are.

Does anyone have experience with Pinch Media, AdMob, VideoEgg, etc? If so, how is it going? Can you point to your app? I'm researching them for an upcoming iPhone App but can't find basic information like rates.

Seems like there's good community support behind VIM/Emacs and TextMate. Though mainly I get a sense that many try a few and settle into one. I think my strategy will be to try VIM or Emacs or both, and if I find the learning curve too high, switch over to TextMate. Thanks!

Is it worth paying for Textmate or can I find a free one that will do, like TextWrangler? I'm just starting to learn how to code so I think my needs are pretty basic.

Also what do you guys think timing wise for an acquisition? It's moving at a far slower pace than I thought, though with such huge companies, I shouldn't be so surprised.
I think Yahoo does have some promising products, but is facing an AOL-ish future of scatteredness. Also, the employees might be patient enough to wait it out, but are the shareholders willing?

If you were a Yahoo employee (I'm not), you would leave now or stick it out until there's an acquisition? Is it likely for you to get a severance package offering or is that only in the case when you are laid off, not voluntarily leaving?

Curious when you are picking projects, is it enough for you to be passionate about hacking towards a great idea or do you also need passion for your particular field of work? For example, I love travel, so if I came across a project for a law firm enterprise solution, I'm not too inclined to take it on even if I think it makes a lot of sense. I'd rather take on a travel project, even if it...
Not focusing on how you feel socially inept goes a long way. People will cut you some slack if you cut yourself some.

We're an online travel company looking for a designer to join our founding team. The team is striving to build an Apple version of online travel -- a site that's fun, engaging, and easy to use for oft-dreaded trip-planning. Really something where the user's process is the focus, not the end goal of booking tickets like most travel sites out there today. More visual communication, information...
I started my company in Seattle and just recently moved to SF -- even though Seattle is extremely tech-friendly, it's still like moving from the countryside into the Big City. Ideas abound, it's like the whole city is involved in a big brainstorming session. Even if you don't need more talent or money (lucky you!), your product benefits.

I'm trying to find good, clean, user-friendly apps for inspiration. What are your favorites?
