Re:MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @09:06PM (#50283187)

I can understand the no automated AI contribution point of view, but going overboard with the above that is also completely unenforceable makes the policy look dumb.

Re:New Apple TV 4K on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @10:54AM (#50072713)
an iPhone 17 without a screen, with half the storage, without a battery, without FaceID, without cameras, without cellular modem, without Taptic Engine, without…

The only part that “deserves” a price increase is the storage starting at 128GB now instead of 32GB, but it’s completely out of touch to get rid of the base model when nobody has any use for all that storage (even the 32GB) for what is basically a streaming box.

Hell, even their new HomeView device, which does have a screen and FaceID, starts at same price.

Re:Cloudflare K2: serverless event streams on Thursday October 01, 2026 @09:30PM (#49928973)
The pricing is surprising, Data Produced at $0.04/GB seems reasonable (when compared to other clouds event streams) but Data Consumed being at the same $0.04/GB is rather steep...

This means actual usage is $0.08/GB in the simplest case (one consumer) but fan-out consumer strategies get very expensive very fast.

Narrator: He would not.

is flickering fully fixed yet?
Not saying there's no negative impacts, but what are the _huge_ negative impacts that have materialized so far?
Coincidentally this is how pretraining works :)
Re:Bypassing the kernel for 56ns cross-language IPC on Sunday April 19, 2026 @09:39AM (#47824240)
Looks really interesting but the Go binding sadly uses cgo. Could the binding be done in pure Go? Or at least purego (the cgo alternative using Go assembly for FFI) ?
Re:The Gemini app is now on Mac on Thursday April 16, 2026 @02:30AM (#47789394)
I ended up just using the web version, which is actually better than the native app (multiple tabs works!).

This seems high. At which quantization? Using LM Studio or something else?

Note: Darkbloom seems to run everything on Q8 MLX.

The only limit is yourself!
