Re:PowerShell is open sourced and is available on Linux on Thursday August 18, 2016 @01:09PM (#12314346)
It's just default behavior and its customizable for a reason. Different people have different preferences, powershell's default behavior is in no way 'better' than bash's. You can also use a different shell like zsh.

I think this can be explained by the fact that Microsoft has a long history of trying to kill OSS software and alternatives to it's virtual monopoly in the desktop OS market, killing innovation across many technology sectors in the process. Being cross-platform was the opposite of their goals. They specifically created their own version of open technologies and promoted them as the best/only way of doing things on windows - see directx/opengl, and mictrosoft intentionally degrading opengl performance on windows in order to hurt the OSS community.

So your only criticism is that you don't like the adjective they used in the summary? Neat.
Here you go: http://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/press-releases/...

You can find other articles and studies echoing the same conclusions.

> When people get sick they come to the US for treatment if they can.

No they don't. And many Americans go to other countries for treatment because they can't afford it in the US.

> You don't see world leaders and those with money going to Canada or Europe for treatment.

'Those with money' is a tiny portion of the population, which is why I said 'most citizens' get better healthcare in other countries (developed ones).

> The US is hella expensive for many reasons one is that we have the most bleeding edge medical technology.

Not really, US has some bleeding edge medicine, not the best for every aspect of health, and the bleeding edge stuff is only available to a very tiny portion of the population.

The healthcare system in countries like France, Canada, Germany is much more efficient and provides better healthcare to most of it's citizens than the US healthcare system pre and post obamacare.

Re:RedHat is hiring to make Linux run better on laptops on Friday August 12, 2016 @10:29AM (#12275928)
You don't have to get old laptops, most higher-end lenovo and asus laptops, like the ultrabooks, work quite well, you can even run on any of the recent macbooks with no issues. The fact that most laptops are sold with windows pre-installed is not a linux issue, but a product of miscrosoft's imperialism.
Having worked on a similar product and heard a very similar description of the 'proprietary' method, I'm guessing either security, speed or both are actually compromised.
