I went on safari with duma explorer over the summer (https://www.dumaexplorer.com/) Hard not to take amazing photos with any camera. Unbelievable trip.

did the founders think about other markets? i see a better use with my parents (65+) than my child since she doesn't/won't have an iPhone 3gs or 4.

They use crowdsourcing:

We're a collaboration of scientists at UC Berkeley and UC Davis and our image labeling engine can take any photo and accurately label it. We use computer vision and an innovative crowdsourcing network to recognize images, and the architecture learns over time, so it gets smarter with each search.
