this is for performance/security, what about other stuff, like new features, is it possible?
Re:Chinese satellite sends 'hack-proof' message on Thursday August 10, 2017 @12:27PM (#14981309)
this is actually sequel to those sensationalist 'teleportation' articles. If you expected they will develop to teleportation of humans you'd been wrong.
Re:First Object Teleported from Earth to Orbit on Tuesday July 11, 2017 @08:40AM (#14743603)
theese experiments are done for completly other purpose then this article suggest. otherwise "teleporting" photon would be pointless because you can just emit photon somewhere where you would like it to be. and it would be exactly the same photon. and not just "To all intents and purposes"
sounds like ad-hoc hypothesis
im not "clinging to single universe world view" but i got 2 questions: 1. has this alghoritm actually been executed somewhere? 2. does this mean there is infinite storage posibillity to store any data you want or it must be "special" data. and how much time does it take to access any segment of this data.

if the answer is no to both question then my answer is: "it doesn't work."

Re:New Model of Evolution Reveals How Cooperation Evolves on Thursday June 22, 2017 @03:31PM (#14614683)
what about other cooperation methods beside punishment. why are they less crucial?
i don't know about machine learning our jobs, that sounds futuristic. but machine can be set up not to require 1 specific manager to oversee it. it can hire whomever it chooses. that means machine is in control of its workers. and not the other way around
> We need to work with allied democratic governments to reach international agreements that regulate cyberspace to prevent the spread of extremist and terrorism planning. And we need to do everything we can at home to reduce the risks of extremism online.

It may appear that terrorists are planning something but in reality it is probably unplanned copy-cat behavior.

Have you tried to ask previous coworkers maybe they know somebody? There are certainly some programmers in your network. but mybe not on first "node".

Any sufficiently advanced communication is indistinguishable from noise
One person or AI can do such "imagination driven programming" to mirror any organisation. so i guess organisation of n people can also mirror any organization they want, if that organization is more complex than theirs. Organization can also use some kind of obfuscator to change program structure to not mirror their organization and also mirror less complex organizations.

I don't understand how this is dangerous. can you please give an example? I guess if you mimic more complex organization it may be dangerous.

Re:Ask HN: What will coding be like in 25 years? on Sunday May 21, 2017 @07:24AM (#14386758)
What would take to use for example image editor like mspaint to write programs instead of text editor? We would still need to write text for interfaces with users i guess
Re:A Physicist Who Denies Dark Matter on Saturday May 20, 2017 @03:01PM (#14383780)
Why do physicists believe that formulas should be elegant, beautiful etc.? Maybe that is not how universe works.
Re:Machine-owned enterprises are inevitable on Wednesday March 22, 2017 @04:28PM (#13934563)
Probably first such machines will operate illegaly in some countries and hire protection from humans for its phyisical assets.

> what is to prevent someone from simply ripping the computer out of the taxi, wiping it, and then making off with a free car?

machine can probably hire security for bitcoins to deal with it.

The whole idea of digitizing humans is silly. It would lead to spooky action at distance. For example what if when humans are digitized you send it to two different machines? Which one would be the real you?
