In what way would it be impacted? A large majority of the library's contributions come from the open source community.

Completely tangential, but any recommendations on online complex math courses for engineers who haven't been in school for 15+ years? :D

They most likely are also using their phones during loading screens and commercial breaks. I would be interested to see if someone who has a setup like this could meditate or some other activity that doesn't have sensory overload.

Arg, another website overriding the browser's scroll behavior. The art is amazing but I'm a bit annoyed by things scrolling by unnaturally.

I agree, I was more-or-less tiptoeing around. My question was definitely rhetorical and I am highly suspicious of the source.
As an American, I can tell you the fact that this comes from the GOP (and not an unbiased source) is a giant red flag.
I'd rather not make this political, but should one be suspicious of something coming from a specific political party (in this case the GOP) rather than a neutral/bipartisan source?

It seems the GOP are continually trying to pin this on the Chinese government. Even the introduction is a bit leading in my opinion:

> Until that time, it must be assumed General Secretary Xi and the Chinese Communist Party, prioritizes preserving the Party over the lives of its own people and those around the global suffering the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once I figured out what was happening to me was anxiety I also started exploring meditation. Often times I can feel the anxiety first thing in the morning and I know I need to have a nice mediation session to calm me down (and usually the helps throughout my entire day). And you're definitely not alone, its way more common than I originally thought as well.

Re:The Tamagotchi Cemetery on Monday April 26, 2021 @10:24AM (#26942807)
So odd that this article is on HN today. I recently purchased a Tamagotchi for my five year old son and I feel a ton of responsibility for it as I don't want to disappoint my son. Unfortunately it has died a few times from accidental reset or being accidentally left in the car throughout the day. But over the past week or so while he is in school, I make sure the Tamagotchi is with me everywhere I go so I can ensure it's healthy throughout the day.
Same, I've always done this for anything like this (i.e. tutorials), just to make sure what I'm learning sticks with me a bit more.
Re:Stop Pushing JavaScript on Tuesday March 02, 2021 @07:03AM (#26314389)
I got a few sentences in and couldn't take it seriously so came back here to read the comments and see if anyone else felt the same way.
Strangely enough, I also thought this might be something Elon is responsible for.
Re:Mozilla Lifeboat on Wednesday August 12, 2020 @02:50PM (#24135422)
I was thinking the same thing. In addition, there have been a ton of tech/startup related layoffs, its odd that this one is getting so much attention and support from the community.

Edit: Perhaps I'm a bit bitter, as I was laid off because of the pandemic after 4+ years at my previous employer, and left on my own to figure things out. I imagine the experience was the same for others in a similar situation.
