News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

nigrioid

Sorry if that gave you the impression I was upset. I do think it's a little rich to consider the Guardian a "source" though.

All I'm trying to say is that the predominant type of person on this website is pretty smart and should know better. The "tinfoil hat conspiracy nut" stereotype has been incredibly effective at dissuading people from trying to peek behind the curtain. I understand that it's a tough pill to swallow, but it's a pretty serious situation that we're on the verge of dismantling and effectively criminalizing energy infrastructure that has taken decades and decades to build based on completely bogus propaganda.

Haven’t you ever noticed how every Guardian article is based on fear to keep you thinking exactly what they want?
I hope it was written in Rust to keep us safe.
Here's another video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A169-s4KHFQ

They never mention anything about new refrigerants being flammable. They always just say "we've never seen anything like this!"

But they can't be bothered to have adequate contrast between the white text and the cloud it's covering.
It really is incredibly irresponsible for Microsoft to have integrated "AI" into Bing this early.

I think it was just messages being sent to and displayed by the Windows Messenger service.

It's the prototype for the NWO. Only half joking.
Re:The Move to Memory-Safe Programming on Monday March 20, 2023 @04:14PM (#35237939)
What's going to happen is an overconfidence in the absence of memory-related issues and an increase in the exploitation of other classes of bugs.

I want 10TB optical media that costs $5 each.
Someone has to say it.
Really neat.

You've probably already seen them, but redbean and APE take a similar idea further:

I love SumatraPDF but I want the colored toolbar icons back.
Re:Carbon dioxide emissions reached a record high in 2022 on Friday March 03, 2023 @10:50PM (#35017978)
China and India can burn everything they want but we need to give up everything.

Flammable refrigerants are no joke:

The laptop was clearly Russian disinformation. Biden, who can't form a coherent sentence and barely campaigned, got more votes than any other president in history. Vote counting in Georgia had to be stopped in the middle of the night because a pipe burst. Trump enjoyed being peed on by prostitutes in Russia. CNN and MSNBC are far, far more trustworthy than Fox News. I can't believe all of the stupid republicans are even the same species as me. I am an educated, science-believing, Ukraine-defending, vaccine-taking American citizen.
Re:Zoning laws are no longer in effect in much of the Bay Area on Thursday February 16, 2023 @07:56PM (#34829195)
We're going to build oil refineries and chemical factories next to your house and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the Electron again.
It's pretty scary that these battery fires don't require oxygen to burn. That's mostly why they are so hard to deal with; you can't just deprive the fire of oxygen to extinguish it.
Very low-quality, low-effort blog.
I still think it's weird that there were 20 Freescale employees on that flight.
Re: on Sunday January 22, 2023 @05:20PM (#34482845)
It's kind of scary that it's even possible for someone to be like this.
It would just give them more motivation for outsourcing.
Re:Google to delay portion of staff bonus on Friday January 20, 2023 @12:50AM (#34449694)
The entire financial system is in much worse shape than anyone could imagine.
Re:Supporting the Use of Rust in the Chromium Project on Thursday January 12, 2023 @09:35PM (#34363297)
It's not really about the language itself but the people and politics surrounding it.

This will end the Chrome/Blink monopoly.
