News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

This is very cool, definitely makes you more familiarly with the movement shortcuts! I created something similar at: https://vimgolf.ai
I believe the Russians tried something similar in Ukraine with cloaking themselves to fool infrared drones.

Wow, $2/$10 for input and output even if just for introductory pricing is an incredible deal. Wonder how token efficient it is.
Re:Spherical Snake on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @02:54PM (#49997232)
Thanks for letting me know, will try to fix it today.

Thanks man for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it!
Re:GPT-6 Sol and Luna on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @02:06PM (#49805613)
Pricing is insane, can have Luna going after a goal for 10 days and not run into maxing out the limits.
Re:Claude Opus 5.5 on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @12:35PM (#49804000)
Wow! Though need to see its token efficiency to better assess. Been hearing rumors it generates much more output tokens per task.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @12:54PM (#49715350)
Have been working on my game:

https://slitherworld.com

Still need to polish it up, but it’s been coming along. I just added a battle royale mode. Items and the backend server side needs work.

I agree completely and that’s exactly what I did for my site:

Re:The entire city of San Francisco as a video game on Monday August 24, 2026 @01:44PM (#49423365)
Crazy how they have GTA San Francisco before GTA 6
Re:SparrowMap – Cameras that watch government vehicles on Friday August 14, 2026 @12:21AM (#49294728)
Nvm, just clicked on the link and took me to the GitHub. I guess that’s what I get from skimming the website.

Are the .exe to install a always on computer as part of a open source repo I can verify with a hash? Otherwise I am not going to trust it.
Re:Gemini 3.7 Flash on Thursday August 13, 2026 @01:33PM (#49289277)
Agreed
Re:Gemini 3.7 Flash on Thursday August 13, 2026 @01:27PM (#49289189)
This is genuinely a competitive model, considering it beats Claude Sonnet 5 on almost all benchmarks and is more than half its price. Seems like Google is back in the game, though not leading the frontier anymore.
Re:DeepSeek-V4-Flash Update on Friday July 31, 2026 @03:47AM (#49120210)
Can you post the link to the leaked interview? From what I understand he has been pretty tight lipped for a guy who has a larger stake worth more in his company than Dario does in Anthropic.
Re:DeepSeek-V4-Flash Update on Friday July 31, 2026 @03:20AM (#49120032)
That's a good point. Yeah their caching input is insane.
Re:DeepSeek-V4-Flash Update on Friday July 31, 2026 @02:59AM (#49119883)
I wouldn't doubt GPT 4.6 Luna being in the top left quadrant's center on the Cost per Intelligence Index is not concerning for Liang Wenfeng. You have to remember DeepSeek v4 flash even though a bit cheaper, does not have vision abilities, which is a big draw for agentic tasks.

I admire DeepSeek's openness, but even they have been raising prices after their discounts.

Thanks for trying!
I don’t know I feel pretty crazy having created this all to make learning vim easier. Not all Vim users are like me. Why don’t you try it out?
6 months of access to current and updated version from purchase date. But considering making it lifetime if there’s popular demand for it via feedback.
Brilliant, I’ll add that today
I’ll look into making it more user intuitive. I tried in a way through the gifs, but I could find other ways to help guide the user more.
My app is actually cheaper than vim-adventures or other popular paid Vim learning sites. If you are against using my app, I encourage you to use vimtutor. A great free way to learn Vim.
Vimgolf.com is another great way to learn Vim. I created Vimgolf.ai mainly to challenge users by comparing their score against bot entries.
Hmm, I’ll look into the CPU processing performance. Maybe it’s the menu animations? And yes vimtutor continues to be a great resource that Braam made. I mainly made this app to gamify learning the vim skills.
Thank you so much for your feedback!
Thank you, investigating this
I’ll look into it! Definitely worth pursuing
Thanks for the feedback! What browser are you using? Sometimes the containers also don’t work properly with certain VPNs.
