Well said. Let meditation be the medication.

Sounds like this kid was a super evolved humanoid whose special powers were tamed by pharmaceuticals
Re:The Cult of Work You Never Meant to Join on Wednesday April 15, 2015 @02:09PM (#9382892)
I am always working in the sense that ideas pop into my head at times that I can apply to my "work"...but I really only work about 20 actual hours a week, that being said, I am salaried and do not really get paid that much, I work with cult members but am a marked non member which makes things interesting and conversely makes me valuable. Try it out!

I webcasted my wedding in Vegas ($100 add on). It was a great hit. With more millennials jumping into the marriage pool, this is a great startup vertical (horizontal?). Just make a pi, put a sim card on it / satellite link/ connect to wifi, and you can invite everyone to your special life event.

Ask HN: Should I drink from the firehose?

I recently joined a new department at my company. I linked up with a long standing member of the group (20+ years). He gave me an overview and one piece of advice: "Don't drink from the firehose right away, give yourself some time to learn, we say it takes a new employee 6-12 months to onboard"...What do you think of this statement / statements like this? Genuine...or an unnecessary standard?

Beautiful. Would it be feasible, suitable reasonable and practical to build ternary "circuits" in escher? Emphasis on practical
Re:Ask HN: What are you doing to improve your health? on Friday April 10, 2015 @01:01PM (#9355619)
I like to roll my shoulders back and slide my shoulder blades down my back while sitting at the computer, additionally, yoga and meditation. Most recently, I stopped drinking coffee. Generally go with the flow and listen to your body. Everyone is different! Do some A/B tests on yourself. Wishing you infinite wellness!
Thanks! I posted a new comment about the saucers under this...

Ask HN: How do I audit my employer for invading my privacy?

For real: here is a little story, I work for a Fortune 500 botnet, I brought my work laptop to a friends house, VPN'd in from their house and now their network is absolutely fried (strange behavior, weird connections, etc)...even after replacing the router. Additionally, I am almost certain my iPhone is bugged, and these strange little saucers appeared on my telephone poles a few months ago. I...

Re:'Silicon Valley Is Coming' Warns JP Morgan CEO on Thursday April 09, 2015 @02:00PM (#9349608)
I think what is especially interesting about this comment is that Wall St, which is on the East Coast, uses the internet in very different ways than Silicon Valley does, which on the West Coast. Both have ground to make up in this sense; Silicon Valley could be much more in tune with their East Coast counter parts...

Yes! Thank you for mentioning, I am floored at how little attention this gets...

Yes! Bringing us all one step closer to the whiysi (we host it you store it) dev paradigm. Bravo!

Yes! Of course, those who blew the bubble 16 years ago learned their lesson and built a basket this time. A few items may fall out of the basket as the supermarket gets busy, which makes me think Uber will fall on the wrong side of legislation (and AirBnb will not) based purely on Peter Thiel's name comment in that recent interview. That being said, my gut tells me the opposite. Ideally, they both thrive!
Are AI scares cyclical as well? Much like market adjustments
Yes! You are not alone my friend. Try changing your perspective and delighting in the successes of your psuedo-peers as opposed to being jealous. Everyone is on their own path. Meet yourself where you are; the time is always now and you are indeed exactly where you need to be.

Lately, I have been dealing with cutting back on what I do as opposed to piling stuff on; focusing on no more than 3 things (for example), rolling off of less compelling projects, creating space. Give yourself, your days, some space and see what happens. Listen to your heart!

Think critically about what is and is not serving you and adjust accordingly. Expect nothing. You are divine! Look at all these people who want you to succeed! You are on the front page of Hacker News...certainly if there is nothing else that must be a sign that you are on the right path, especially as a tech professional

Great good wishes to you my friend

Show HN: Awesome Corporate Hack

Alright so here's the concept:You take a mouse, gut it, put some ware on it that installs when you plug it in...Then, you call up corporate IT fixers ("help desk") and be like "oh man my mouse is broken!"...they come, replace your mouse, and you hope they try and diagnose the problem with your "broken" mouse on their machine...
