Re:Screw motivation, what you need is discipline on Tuesday February 07, 2023 @04:44PM (#34700222)
Mike Tyson has said that “discipline is doing what you hate like you love it” it’s a great quote that I always remember.

I found this thing like 6years ago on hn. Thanks! hands down best lightweight pdf editor ever!
Re:AI-engineered enzyme eats entire plastic containers on Wednesday May 11, 2022 @07:33PM (#31347377)
Brainstorming. With all the talk about micro plastics, what happens if this type of enzyme is digested?

Does the type of process in the reaction and it’s byproducts do damage to us? Is AI actually out to get us lol

I would add more obfuscation and slowly make it impossible to learn. Have the emacs veterans talk about the old days slowly making it seem like all you had to do was install emacs and you were so productive that emacs wrote the programs for you! Then eventually the word emacs turns into an adjective describing the perfect program. To the point that instead of "Turing complete" we say "Emacs complete" then years in the future someone will ask "WTF is emacs?" and they will simply say it's god.
Best PDF for work, hands down. I don’t even download new I have had the same exe for like 5 years.
if you start to deal with powers of Good Thinking. You inevitably have to deal with the problems of Bad Thinking.

Are they not spraying up there to help mitigate this?
Re:Curated Code CAD (2020) on Tuesday June 29, 2021 @10:49AM (#27676597)
Question: How hard would it be to make to re-impletment freecad in wasm? Someone needs to break it out of qt or at least make it more customizable. Is this ever going to happen?
Have you tried it. Way different than freecad. You set constraint of equality or whatever. You leave it open ended and now you can add those same constraints in the 3D and transform your shape in this hybrid feel, that feels like your are modelling an equation with your hand.

That being said Freecad is way more versatile and you can do almost anything. Solve space is more like the equivalent of building a freecad model out of clay. You can always adjust it but you don’t end up with anything more usable than a stl file in reality, which you can then import into freecad lol.

Openscad and opencascade are for CAD program designers imho . Although version control is so appealing.

I was looking for something exactly like this. Will this connect to my wahoo cadence sensor and apple watch and gps? I couldn't find the documentation.

update: watched the video it does indeed look like you have included that functionality. Joined the beta. Cant wait to try if I am accepted.

did I miss link or is there a parsing script yet?
what are the advantages of this compared to using freecads gui approach to modelling?

doesn't stadia run on a linux type of enviroment?
So just going through this. Does it’s methodology say that you keep all your notes in one directory? It’s note very descriptive about this.
Re:How Americans Came to Distrust Science on Wednesday December 23, 2020 @10:26AM (#25518512)
>Before the 1920s, many Americans viewed science as a kind of “people’s knowledge,” a practical, commonsense mode of reasoning that stood against all forms of elite authority.

Thinking about this the conclusion that is arising is Science has become more of status thing and less of an entrepreneurial tool. This is pretty evident in the reason why the really cool code is always not open source.

so how does it work so go on me? I find urges to check the feed all the time. But the content rarely engages me. I watch a couple minuets then switch. What is going on here? why am I gravitated towards it? Can I use the same process to my benefit? Like can you build your own algorithm to get you addicted o healthy information?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

in my research I was led here. But not sure on the accuracy but they seem to have methods.

Just had the idea of explicit music videos. They always had the annoying disclaimer. Very hard to ignore and miss.

Why not just be transparent in there actions. Add an icon to thing they deem offensive to there ethics. Dump it from the Main page algorithm feed. And make the icon clickable to a page where it shows why you added they censored or tagged the content. People need to see this stuff go down in real-time and why it happens. But leave free speech intact.

Or make everyone pay for it then they can do whatever they want. Disappear anything Lol

I though digestive enzymes only activate during the day matching our circadian rhythm.
Re:Just Write the Parser on Thursday October 22, 2020 @10:15AM (#24858250)
man can dig hole. while digging one hole he finds two holes. he Diggs the one hole till he finds the bottom. climbs up to where he found the two the proceeds down the other hole. till he finds two more holes and then digs to the bottom of the first hole he finds until he hits bottom there. he descends until he hits bottom or digs through the earth. one hole at a time.

the digging is just the way your language constructs itself into different elements spread out like directories and sub-directories.

I feel like the opposite is true and already here. No need for a real implant when all my phone has to do is ding.
Re:Nearly 1 in 3 American workers run out of money before payday on Thursday February 13, 2020 @08:36AM (#22317594)
Practical Advise. If this is you, you should ___________ to start building your income and and a buffer zone? I cannot seriously answer this question.
Side questions if anybody answers this. How did you get your first job industry? I imagine corporation weren’t like there are now and thought of code as black magic.
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on and why is it cool? on Friday November 16, 2018 @06:16AM (#18467980)
A parser for orgmode. I’m tired of everyone else’s opinionated way of doing it. So now I’m going do it my own opinionated way.
