The reason for suspension is probably the quotes in her name. A Google engineer on g+ posted that you should not have any special characters in your name to avoid getting suspended.
Unless the small number is less than 1!
That article is not about Afghanistan but Pakistan.

Here is the list of Gawker passwords along with MySQL, FTP accounts http://pastebin.com/9rRmf6W5

Thousands of people still use "password" as their password.

Re:Why we switched from Google App Engine to EC2 on Monday November 22, 2010 @07:45PM (#1931940)
App Engine has a billing plan if you want to use more resources than the free quota. http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/billing.html It is a lot cheaper than AWS

For avoiding NY Times wall, if you are using Chrome, you can just right click the link and "open in new incognito window".
Re:Liberate your Facebook contacts' email addresses. on Thursday November 11, 2010 @05:09PM (#1895503)
It is working intermittently. Apparently this works with hotmail as well because Facebook has a tie up with Microsoft.

Most of Google's competitors (in search) are already trying to discover/emulate Google's algorithms. There is no need for a contest. Any one who is capable of doing that can build a great search engine instead and earn a lot more money.

But a person/team making it easy to write programs that use the Kinect on Linux may not be able to sell the software. So a contest makes sense.

The check boxes aren't even visible in my chrome. http://imgur.com/qMpND

I don't know if this is a bug.

What are you talking about on YouTube? Most of the top Youtube partners (people who get paid by youtube for videos) are individuals and not corporations.

I don't know any YouTube decision that hurt YouTube channels by individuals in any way.

Re:Offer HN: Twitter API Help on Wednesday October 27, 2010 @03:01PM (#1839970)
The Twitter API docs (http://dev.twitter.com) has HTTP error codes for each Twitter API. There is Twitter Search API, Twitter REST API and Twitter Streaming API. So though the meaning of the error code might differ slightly generally it is the same. For example, 200 is always successful request and 404 is always resource not found.

Are you seriously checking for failwhale's image name in API response?

Re:Offer HN: Twitter API Help on Wednesday October 27, 2010 @02:48PM (#1839917)
Twitter API has rate limits. I think it is 360 req/hour per IP if you are not white-listed. So if you poll using server-side code you are likely to hit the rate-limit. You can cache results to avoid this.
Re:Ask HN: Show me your Half Baked project on Saturday October 23, 2010 @01:56AM (#1822780)
Looks useful and impressive.

May be "Show details" should be "About Me". And instead of forcing "login\signup", a page allowing direct customization of the widget and embed code would be more impressive.

Why did Google blacklist all of your Tldscan sites? Was it just because your sites' content was updated automatically? Or was it because you did something wrong for SEO?
Re:Google URL shortener available to the public on Thursday September 30, 2010 @06:32PM (#1745151)
Earlier they did not offer custom URL shortening. goo.gl was used by Google services like Reader, YouTube but it was not open to public.
Re:Google URL shortener available to the public on Thursday September 30, 2010 @06:28PM (#1745137)
I wonder if Google has an API to get all stats or an API to get all short links pointing to a URL.

PS: That means there is still atleast one HNer using internet explorer.
