if they end up attacking Nato, I think we would just go until boots are in Moscow. our tech is better and we have more men ( we dont need North Koreans to fight)
Re:War may be coming. Are we psychologically ready? on Friday September 18, 2026 @06:09PM (#49760907)
who would want to go to war with nato ?

> china ? why ? they just want taiwan

> russia ? lol, they can't even manage Ukraine ( with our aid )

> iran ? why ? they just want to kill you know who

This is just a fearmongering article.

> 7 day battery life Been using the fitbit air since day 1 and it never died on me. Charge it when I shower. The only issue is the fabric strap is getting dirty, and the sensor gets a bit dirty (dead skin, etc.) compared to an Apple Watch.

Other than that, it's spectacular, and now with Apple Health, it's on par if not better than the Apple Watch. apple health only synced to the 4-5 of July, though. :/

Re:Changing How We Develop Ladybird on Friday June 05, 2026 @05:43AM (#48410194)
I don't like this, but I understand it. I've contributed to the LB project several times, and I have made friends IRL with people who have also contributed to the project. ( we are now friends at uni ) It feels like a stepback because instead of 30-45 contributors every month, you have 15...

i feel like there should be a way to trust a PR ID verification or in-person verification at FOSDEM/DEFCON/Chaos Communication Congress,UNI's, for example.

Re:AI Outperforms Law Professors in Stanford Law Study on Wednesday June 03, 2026 @08:32AM (#48383127)
The HAI is also funded with money from OpenAI, Antropic, and other big tech corporations. I don't know what you are trying to prove.
> The corollary is that this is a very valuable capability of AI

I agree.

Although I don't think the current AI training method will be able to do AGI etc. (I agree with Yann LeCun's POV)

Being young, I don't know how I feel about the philosophical idea of AGI.

I’m quite certain that a few months ago, some problems were claimed to be solved by AI. However, those claims were actually false and were exactly that, solved erdos problems that were not marked as solved and the solution was "found" by AI.

In the same vein, https://512kb.club/ is a user-submitted website that features content under 512 KB in size! (blogs, news, etc.)
Because for these investors the opportunity cost of this is higher than other startups.

I agree with you; there should be more diversity in investments in EU startups, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not my money.

all talks are recorded. so you can watch it live or on replay. Talks are free to attend; they are @ ULB campus in Brussels. 31st of jan - 1 of feb.
Re:Oral microbiome sequencing after taking probiotics on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @04:51PM (#46519391)
i remember reading about "lumina probiotic" Has anyone done research on it since, reviewing thier claims ?

their claims on their website:

replaces S. mutans, alters oral microbiome, reduces acid via ethanol metabolism, produces antibiotic, freshens breath, brightens teeth, lasts decades. etc

i am very skeptical of it

Arch is nice if you want to tinker. Based on your reasoning, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you still want arch-based, I would recommend EndevourOS, and for even a simpler/better distro, Bazzite.
What are the use cases of CO2 appart for making my Coke fizz?

Peter Thiel was very close with Epstein : https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45043807

so it's unsurprising that the UK, which wants to befriend Pres Trump, would also like to befriend the VP (who owes his entire career to Thiel).

There are many bugs/errors in the spec. LB is here to find most of them.
UPDATE

Update August 28: A day after publication, Apple informed us that the distribution rights (notarization) were revoked due to sanctions-related rules.

“Notarization for this app was removed in order to comply with government sanctions-related rules in various jurisdictions. We have communicated this to the developer,” Apple told us.

No further context was provided, but the developer purportedly had a Russian developer account, despite living in Malta.

> The email's provenance isn't really clear, this could be a hoax.

i looked up the docs and it seems legit. the source is iran.

Re:Typepad is shutting down on Wednesday August 27, 2025 @01:16PM (#45042360)
They should provide an option to move to https://ghost.org/
i use it to share pictures from my NAS to my phone. And play video from it. Also, in Belgium, it's completely legal to rip and share ( within family circle ) copyrighted content.
Consider donating to the developer ( he is a solo dev )

https://github.com/XITRIX/iTorrent#donate-for-donuts

The developer had his app distribution rights removed in mid-July. i am the one who reached out to TorrentFreak; they were the first to respond. (The Verge /MacRumors/9to5Mac ignored me)

(i had no input in the article.)

The dream would be Apple letting https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium (a decentralized app store 4 Android) on IOS
