Startup idea 1: create a website that solicits startup ideas
I’ve been using that idiom since 2010.
What did I just read!?
Looks like an AI trained exclusively on 4chan
Hallucinations galore.
It is supposed to personalize responses since it has access to my main gmail account. It thought I was a woman and working in healthcare. Pretty wildly off.
Where has it been shown? Links?
Layoffs next month to make up for this? /s

One would think the company is doing something state-of-the-art moonshot worthy. But, no.
“ Rilla, a New York-based tech business which sells AI-based systems that allow employers to monitor sales representatives when they are out and about, interacting with clients.”
Which idiots are giving away their lives for this.
What is the industry opinion on ngrok? They seem to be in a market where their product is considered a commodity and there are many alternatives.
Honestly, if companies cared enough about the interviewees time as well, people wouldn’t do this. I was looking for a few months, and companies put you through the wringer of 6-9 interviews these days. Two should tell you whether a candidate is a good fit or not. Then there’s the case interviews where candidates put in dozens of hours prepping decks and what not, and then get rejected without any feedback at all.
And this was exclusively at SMBs and startups. At least, the FAANG companies have structure and you know what to expect.
Yep; meant opt-in, by default

It's under Settings ->Data Privacy -> How LinkedIn uses your data ..There was no announcement about this. It's opt-out by default.
What else do they do with the user data besides ads targeting? Serious question.
None of this is surprising.
I wouldn’t say they are disconnected, unless they were already born with a silver spoon and have never had to live like the rest of us. I would say they know how it is for the rest of us, but just don’t care.
You know there are chrome extensions for this?
That’s been their game plan all along. I think Ring pro was free for Prime members. Now, we need to pay a subscription.
Amazon Video used to be free. Now, there’s ads.
But that would increase their cortisol, according to the founders.
Company wide policy, apparently.
I've been considering using a second webcam stream focused on my screen just to assure hiring managers that I don't have ChatGPT on my screen, or anywhere else. Kind of like chess players do it sometimes on online tournaments. I've been hearing people complain about cheating a lot.
What exactly are you suggesting here? A standardized test that applies to all your job applications? Or, a candidate having to drive to a test center for every company they apply to? Or something else?
Seems like our only option is to wither and die while corporations make bank. Sorry to be so cynical, but if something as critical and essential as clean drinking water is too much to ask, can’t help but be cynical.
Congratulations; really impressive.
What I find most infuriating is that people just don’t care, even when faced with enough evidence that their strategy of mass applying even when they are not a good fit is failing. It just makes it harder for everybody else as you said.
Wrong forum. You’re looking for r/wallstreetbets or another like that.
It’s a spectrum - most of us are ambiverts.
Would have been a Hindu Jesus, if we had named him that. Missed that chance!
Indian (Hindu) here who went to a Catholic convent back home. My favorite memory is of a reenactment of Jesus’ birth on stage by a bunch of 10th graders (my class) and instantly falling for the girl that played Mary. I’m now married to her and we have a toddler.
Merry Christmas!

https://mykin.ai/There’s a few AI therapists services out there promising all the privacy. But, I don’t trust these services. There will eventually be pressure to monetize if there aren’t many paying subscribers. But, I see a lot of people sharing very private information with such services. Curious what the HN crowd thinks of these services?
