> This has been said a thousand times before, but allow me to add my own voice: the era of humans writing code is over. Disturbing for those of us who identify as SWEs, but no less true. That's not to say SWEs don't have work to do, but writing syntax directly is not it.

Re:Verizon outages reported across U.S. on Wednesday January 14, 2026 @02:21PM (#46621302)
downdetector is showing a lot of down mobile networks & services
Ah, i thought it used the model selected for your prompts, either way, it seems to work very well
You can use it in Cursor - called "Cursor Tab"

IMO Cursor Tab performs much better than Co-Pilot, easily works through things that would cause Co-Pilot to get stuck, you should give it a try

Seems like an issue with ~aws~ cloudflare. There are a lot of reported issues on Downdetector
Using the lightning network is faster and cheaper
What about instantly sending money to Africa very cheaply?
Do you have stats for that?

Re:Replit Mobile App on Wednesday October 19, 2022 @01:31PM (#33265335)
This is mostly aimed at people who don't have the luxury of coding from a computer.

See this tweet from the CEO: https://twitter.com/amasad/status/1582754947480793093

> We partnered with @TeamMindjoy to test the app by teaching girls how to code in a South African township and we made a video about it. During this time the wifi was super unstable and the few laptops they had were unusable, but kids continued to code on $100 Android phones!

I have no interest to bet with you.

As US debt continues to spiral, I believe the likelihood of bitcoin overtaking the dollar as global reserve currency increases.
Re:Show SN: usdebt.wtf on Monday October 10, 2022 @02:16PM (#33154675)
I built a debt clock website inspired by https://www.usdebtclock.org to explore some of the US Treasury APIs and learn more about Supabase - also to spend some more time working with data since I mostly do front-end work.

It's very basic now with a couple bitcoin stats as well, and after digging into these APIs it's really amazing how much data usdebtclock.org has to offer. The API is not very easy to work with. I hope to add some more data soon though.

code is here: https://github.com/neb-b/debtclock

It's not bitcoin if it uses proof of stake
He was never charged for that
They verify transactions and are important to the network
SmarterEveryDay also has a really interesting episode about the sun shield

Re:Ask HN: Why do negative crypto articles dominate on HN? on Wednesday April 13, 2022 @02:50PM (#31018629)
You don't, but all of this makes it harder to track.

Even if the government can track you through all of this, you can setup your private keys in a way that your family can still access your money if the government arrests you.

Re:Ask HN: Why do negative crypto articles dominate on HN? on Wednesday April 13, 2022 @02:38PM (#31018471)
You can use a protocol that doesn't allow for a centralized coordinator with insight into the coin paths, like samourai whirlpool. It could potentially be logging ip's but can be accessed through vpn/tor
Re:Ask HN: Why do negative crypto articles dominate on HN? on Wednesday April 13, 2022 @02:27PM (#31018361)
There are ways to avoid your transactions being tracked. Coinjoin transactions, purchasing a miner for non-kyc bitcoin, payments on the lightning network, etc

Also, they can do all of those things, but you can setup your private keys in a way that your family will still have access to the bitcoin even if you are killed
