Re:SoftBank set to sell UK’s Arm Holdings to Nvidia for $40B on Sunday September 13, 2020 @03:43AM (#24459179)
I am really interested to see how China is going to react. Can Trump administration put some kind of sanction on ARM license.

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I really appreciate it.

Any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media.

So is US. Last time I checked it was not possible for an outsider (third party candidate) to participate in US election.

Forgot about outsider, look what they did to Bernie Sanders. Both 2016 and 2020. Should I explain more? Let alone third party candidates like Jill Stein.

You have really bought the brand of bs the media is selling you don’t you?

Re:XLS: Accelerated HW Synthesis on Thursday September 03, 2020 @12:18PM (#24365584)
Thanks. Do you know the reason?

ESL here. What do you mean by “ walking race condition”?

Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (September 2020) on Tuesday September 01, 2020 @03:40PM (#24346077)
Just sent an application for internship. Hope to hear back from you guys. I did take a look at your GitHub, seems interesting.
I got email yesterday from a midsize company, they cancelled my internship too.
Companies mostly calculated the cost and devoted the investment for recruiting the intern beforehand.
Re:Netflix to cut streaming quality in Europe for 30 days on Thursday March 19, 2020 @04:18PM (#22631256)
It is kind of unrelated to this, but I am asking maybe somebody could help me. Do you guys know where can I read and learn more about the details of the Netflix network? I looked at their technical blog, but I wanted something more detailed and technical. Is there something like Netflix research papers (e.g. Google published Bigtable IIRC).
So with that explanation, I would say you have not read the comment I was responding to.

>Agree with the rest, but sanctions don't hurt the people who actually came up with this shitty idea. It ends up hurting the normal guy on the road, who will probably not endorse the idea in the first place.

When you say this in the response of sanctioning the USA, but don't say that when sanctioning other countries, that does only one meaning. You don't care about ordinary people from other countries (although you claim you do). Which makes you a hypocrite.

You have to think more and harder . That is the definition of hypocrisy. Showing people they do care about people and actually not giving a damn to well being of people.

> Americans are not individually responsible for our governments actions any more than a German is responsible for the historical actions of theirs.

It is funny when it comes to Iran, your politicians use the exact opposite logic.

It is funny you guys don’t say that when sanctioning Iran to death. The definition of hypocrisy.

Re:Windows Terminal Preview 0.9 on Thursday February 13, 2020 @09:19PM (#22323449)
Waiting for final release of this (and wsl 2) to switch to Windows from my Linux.
What is MINERVA? Google didn’t give any related results.
Just like me. I did my BSc in Iran and was applying for grad school for cs 3 years ago. I just picked Canada because of easier immigration policy. Thank you Canada.
Re:Ask HN: Best books you read in the past decade? on Saturday December 28, 2019 @03:28PM (#21901503)
The Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Literally destroyed left wing politics in my mind.

Do you remember the % difference?
Re:Android’s Commitment to Kotlin on Friday December 06, 2019 @09:09PM (#21727977)
That was always the problem with google.

Look at chrome os fiasco. They had it for 6,7 years? They didn’t realized it until Microsoft did put effort to make their OS developer friendly that they should make chromeos developer friendly. Imagine how good chromeos was today if they have started to make it developer friendly in 2010 instead of 2017.

Re:Controlling attention with brain waves on Friday December 06, 2019 @08:59PM (#21727942)
Does attention has any correlation to IQ? I mean is it possible to have an IQ of 180, but perform with IQ 120 because of lack of attention?
Re:How to set up Xilinx Vivado for source control on Tuesday November 19, 2019 @12:29AM (#21570847)
Why they would use tcl? Why not something more cleaner?
Re:Foliate – A simple and modern GTK eBook viewer on Tuesday July 09, 2019 @02:02PM (#20394774)
Wow, I didn't see this coming. I always had this problem in Linux to the point I am going to ditch Linux for windows the moment wsl2 becomes stable. But this app is literally awesome. I wish Gnome foundation would stop acting stupid as hell and start funding projet like this and make it official Gnome project.

Thank you so much.

Are videos of this conference available or is going to be available?
Re:New Dell XPS 13 developer edition now available on Wednesday January 23, 2019 @03:41PM (#18982661)
Sorry for asking an unrelated question, I recently bought a XPS 15. Do you know what is the difference between Precision 5530 and XPS 15 exactly?

It is the graphics card? Or it does have better build quality or better keyboard or something? Build quality is important to me since I use my laptop all the time.

I've been using SE for the past 2 years and it is perfect for its price and I have a plan to at least use it for another year too. Its fluid animation and acceptable performance make it way superior to most Android phones. I switched from Nexus 5 and I am not going to buy any Android phone until Google guarantees I am going to get OS+Security updates for at least 4 years.
