DS v4 flash has been my goto model for tasks in work. its been unsurprisingly fast and cheap.

thanks for pointing that out. will update the repo and the content!!!

That's a good point, and I could have worded that better. What I implemented accepts an explicit alignment parameter because it made the allocator easier to explain. A real malloc() only guarantees alignment suitable for any object type (typically alignof(max_align_t)), since it has no idea what the caller will store there.

update: thanks to everyone who pointed out the mistake in the back pointer layout. the diagrams and explanation have been corrected.

this is so cool!
Re:Learn System Design by being a detective in a game on Tuesday February 24, 2026 @09:12AM (#47137388)
yeah this was cool and genuinely informative.

i found myself mostly reading the summary on the left though.. it was doing most of the heavy lifting. the graph looked nice, but it didn’t really add much to the understanding for me.

Ask HN: Can multi-agent systems collaborate?

most multi-agent coding frameworks seem to prefer strict task isolation -- split the work, avoid interference, merge later. humans end up acting as the coordinator.is this a deliberate architectural choice (isolation is simpler and safer), or are we hitting a real capability ceiling where agents can’t reliably coordinate on a shared, evolving codebase?the ideal would be multiple agents working...

this is exactly how i feel!

really impressive work!!! the depth of research and the way the website presents it are both well executed.

i grew up in erode, a major handloom hub in tamilnadu.. so this hits close to home. research like this helps preserve and better understand regional textile ecosystems that often don’t get enough structured documentation.

thanks for sharing.

that was so brilliant! i loved it! thanks for putting it out :)
