I use Innolitics's DICOM browser for looking up tags every day. :) Thank you :)

Yes, what exactly happened to him?

Ask HN: Serverless platforms with stateful functions

Are there any serverless platforms that give the abstraction of a function that maintains its state without interacting with an external service.Something like:f(current_state, request) --> (new_state, response)where the state is persisted across requests by the serverless platform transparently.

Emacs has a built-in mode for doing this - picture-mode
https://github.com/narendraj9/hledger-mode

I have been using this for almost two years now. I am not sure if there are any other users but I find it very convenient. (Disclaimer: I wrote the extension).

I was surprised by the amount of time I have spent doing this. Hence, the post.

Retirement is not the only time one lives a life.
Yes. But why do you want that? Why the need to state this at the moment?
Re:Show HN: Personal finance with 'hledger' in Emacs on Sunday February 05, 2017 @04:45AM (#13571636)
I actually want to write an Emacs Lisp port of hledger/ledger. Just for fun sometime. I cannot do this in the near future though.
Re:Show HN: Personal finance with 'hledger' in Emacs on Sunday February 05, 2017 @04:39AM (#13571630)
hledger and ledger are mostly compatible. Can you share what problem you are facing while using hledger?

You original journal file that you were using with ledger should just work with hlegder.

Re:Show HN: Personal finance with 'hledger' in Emacs on Sunday February 05, 2017 @04:39AM (#13571627)
Yes, `hledger' is based on double entry bookkeeping. But we do not use the Credit and Debit conventions. Instead we use negative numbers to imply deduction in the balance of an account. Each journal entry must be balanced.

I think the same thing can be done with hledger. What were the ledger features that you found yourself to be using most frequently?

This sounds cool. I have never used this for running a business. It would be great if you share your experience in a blog post or something. :)

I have been using this setup for the past one year. I have added a lot of things that I use almost regularly.

Always be invested in the market but make sure that when you need the money that you have invested, it is there for you to spend. It doesn't make sense to keep in the money in the market when you know that you will be in loss when you will have to take it out.
