You misspelled Ethereum 4 times.

Dai is now backed by a lot more tokens than just Ether, and 150% is really the minimum to avoid liquidation (145% now).

Random middle class person here! Been getting paid in BTC/ETH/Dai for ~5 years now!

I live in Argentina and have been getting paid in Dai (stablecoin on Ethereum) for over 2 years.

Re:Google Hangouts Chat on Wednesday February 28, 2018 @01:33PM (#16485401)
I haven't been able to video chat using Hangouts for a long time now. Chrome on Windows 10 or Chrome on Ubuntu 17.10, I click the video button and... nothing.

Works on Android though.

They named it Jaunt by the way. It's the last word of the article.
Re:New, more powerful Google Translate app on Wednesday January 14, 2015 @06:33PM (#8889914)
I speak English, Spanish and Italian. I've been talking to this app for the past hour in those languages and translating to whatever languages have speech output. This is so amazing.
Slack does this, Resource Guru as well. There's probably a lot more. I don't really mind, I think it's a nice touch.
Re:Handmade Hero: C game from scratch on Friday November 14, 2014 @09:36AM (#8607286)
This was one of the easiest purchases I've made in my life. I've been following Casey's blog for some time and his Wednesdays posts are amazing.

I can't wait to start watching the videos and of course, code along.

So now I want a service where I can upload a pic and it'll tell me if I'm trustworthy or not.
Re:Eventjoy (YC W14) Is Joining Ticketmaster on Thursday September 11, 2014 @02:20PM (#8304175)
Ah, that's sad. Ticketmaster and "joy" do not go in the same sentence.

Title refers to a pivot that came to be because of a mistake, not that the pivot itself is a mistake.
Re:Reasonable non-compete clause on Tuesday September 02, 2014 @10:44AM (#8257845)
Something like this will work, thanks.

Reasonable non-compete clause

I'm about to sign a contract for a new job. I objected to the non-compete clause because it felt too restrictive. Can someone give me a good example of a single paragraph non-compete clause? (if there is such a thing)Company is your basic web development / outsourcing / hosting shop.

Re:Embedding Scheme for a game mission scripting DSL on Sunday August 31, 2014 @10:48PM (#8251307)
Hey, I visited your game website http://thespatials.com/ and it started blasting audio automatically. Some consider this an anti-pattern!

The info on mission scripting is really good though!

I know saying just 'Wow, what a beautiful, useful app' doesn't really add much to the discussion, but it's all I can muster.

Beautiful app. Amazingly designed. Insanely useful with zero configuration. Would love to pay money for this, especially if you can bring this sort of zero click usability to a LAN environment.

Congratulations!

I used to think that too. But then, why have a Downloads folder if you're not going to put Downloads in there? I agree that every once in a while you have to do some cleaning, but that's on the user.

That's what you distilled from his post?

Thanks for following up!
Re:Show HN: Dropu – My first iOS game on Wednesday July 23, 2014 @12:28PM (#8075220)
Looks nice, congrats! I'll give it a try once I'm home.

Dabbling with #gamedev myself, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

What framework/engine did you use?

What's the font on the menu? (I like it a lot)

If you have time, I'd love to read a post-mortem.

Lately I've found myself using Firefox more and more. The last couple of weeks Chrome and Canary have been hanging a lot, especially when I want to download a file. Chrome will slow to a crawl, tabs will stop rendering and when I try to close it thinks it's still downloading something.

As someone who's been using Chrome since the first public release I wish it were a bit more stable (for me at least).

Re:One year with Colemak on Thursday July 17, 2014 @04:10PM (#8049901)
I switched to Dvorak about 7 years ago. In hindsight I probably should have stayed with Qwerty.

Nobody can use my machines. My girlfriend already knows to Ctrl-Shift to change keyboard layouts, but that's on my PC where Windows is in English. On my laptop with Windows in Spanish it's Alt-Shift. Even I get confused sometimes.

Most games I play don't recognize layouts, so WASD doesn't work. I have to Ctrl-Shift before launching a game. And that's on Windows 8 that has per-session layout. Windows 7 is per window layout so if Ctrl-Shift doesn't work inside the game I have to manually configure keyboard.

Copy Cut Paste become Ctrl I, Ctrl B and Ctrl . I think this is not a problem in Colemak.

My first language is Spanish. After learning Dvorak I no longer use accents or ñ (just Alt-164'd that one) so it's a pain when I type something more or less official that can't have spelling errors.

After that rant, I'm still relatively happy with Dvorak. At least I have something to say on job interviews.

Re:Frame.io: A GitHub for Video on Wednesday July 16, 2014 @08:27PM (#8045379)
I'm reading in the comments that there's more on the page if you scroll. I'm using a laptop with no mouse and no scroll on the trackpad and neither Page Down nor Space nor the arrow keys work.
Re:Ask HN: How do you guys write your ebooks? on Wednesday July 02, 2014 @11:44AM (#7977628)
My book will be about game development so there's going to be lots of images and lots of code. I'll check out Scrivener, thanks!
Re:Ask HN: How do you guys write your ebooks? on Wednesday July 02, 2014 @11:02AM (#7977349)
Thanks, those are very useful!

Ask HN: How do you guys write your ebooks?

I'm thinking of writing an ebook for a very specific niche. I have no idea where to start software-wise.Ideally, I would like to write and add images, and then have the software export to HTML and PDF/mobi. I think that's about it. Not looking for anything fancier than that. Thanks!

Not going to argue with a stranger on the internet.

Rather I'm gonna go out for a run.
