That's a cool new Web UI to check for LLM compatibility with your machine.

For those like CLI, llmfit is a great alternative that runs in your terminal and nicely filters out models compatible with your machine.

Are we saying, China is delivering on the Open AI promise?

Open Weights = Open AI

Let's go!

Re:Telegram's t.me domain has been suspended on Monday July 13, 2026 @06:32PM (#48899819)
Yeah,a serverHold is placed by the Registrar.

It could be for a lot of reasons:

- spam, phishing or malware distribution

- contact verification issues

- trademark, copyright or cybersquatting legal issues

- or sometimes even errors or registrar transfer issues

It is a valuable and important domain for TG, most likely they'll resolve it soon

Re:Amber the programming language compiled to Bash/Ksh/Zsh on Saturday July 11, 2026 @07:29PM (#48876828)
You guys can stop down voting.

This is not something we're advocating, instead talking the reality from observing across the industry.

Re:Amber the programming language compiled to Bash/Ksh/Zsh on Saturday July 11, 2026 @07:01PM (#48876661)
Agreed, not our choice but isn't that the reality now?
Re:Amber the programming language compiled to Bash/Ksh/Zsh on Saturday July 11, 2026 @07:00PM (#48876655)
True, There isn't one, there will be never one. Isn't that how we end up so many and it never ends.
Re:Amber the programming language compiled to Bash/Ksh/Zsh on Saturday July 11, 2026 @02:19PM (#48874340)
In a world where AI can generate any code for any environment, is there a need for another language?

On the other hand, we're at a point for a binary language (or standard / framework) that one AI/LLM creates and another one validates.

What are we missing?

Re:Chatto is now Open Source on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @02:01PM (#48835123)
This is cool. Will try out soon.

Love that the way you said the rhymes part 'rhymes with “knack”, or the one that rhymes with “beams”, or the one that rhymes with “this gourd”'.

Just ran on Podman on a older hardware with intel CPU processor and ubuntu linux.

When given a large text, it nicely chunked them up (debug statements showed), generated the audio and played back nicely.

Well done!

This is Amazing and a game changer. Millions were spent during NLP era to achieve even <50% what this model offers.

Now this on a CPU is next level. When algorithms perform well on commodity hardware, the scale tips.

This gives hope that CPULLM's are not far off that'll be just fine for majority of use cases.

Re:Latta Java on Sunday July 05, 2026 @08:43PM (#48799491)
Yes, Java got complicated.

It's about time to simplify things (in the java universe & enterprise) and this is a good first effort, all the best!

Semicolon is also nice on the eyes compared to '&' we're used to today.

Why in the world this didn't gain traction?

That's a popular tld for 'me' domains, like you said it's closer to .self in meaning but has better appeal

However .me (https://namegulf.com/tld/cctld/me) is a ccTLD managed by the Government of Montenegro, they set their own rules

At-least implement the submission form instead of redirecting to email the submission, lol!
Re:The unreasonable effectiveness of simple HTML (2021) on Thursday June 11, 2026 @06:52PM (#48497505)
You've a point. HTML is plain and simple, works and gets the job done. Presenting on the web (may be a little bit of light css).

Heavy CSS animations, Javascript bloat is what slows down the websites and literally ruins the web experience.

Back in 2026?

Are we living in an alternate universe?

Re:macOS Container Machines on Tuesday June 09, 2026 @09:07PM (#48469930)
Would be nice if they also support Intel based macs, what prevents?
Re:Amazonbot is finally respecting robots.txt on Thursday May 14, 2026 @06:17PM (#48142010)
Why down vote a comment?

You're talking about one (yes, biggest) but millions of other bots don't follow must be a bigger story.

Re:Amazonbot is finally respecting robots.txt on Thursday May 14, 2026 @05:36PM (#48141596)
Robots.txt is lame BTW, there is no way to enforce it. It is up to the bot to decide to crawl or not and most cases they don't care.

Cloudflare had a nice technic to address the bot problem (if you use their name servers). It'll respect and use the robots.txt while sending the remaining bots to a deep black hole.

Can you elaborate a bit about this?
This is interesting.

What kind of models have you run on this configuration?

Re:Ask Jeeves Shut Down on Saturday May 02, 2026 @01:26AM (#47983573)
You have a great and well known domain name, why not launch a GPT powered LLM on it?

It's a huge opportunity.

That's a interesting usecase

Yeah four months of renting vs buying, speaks for itself

Yeah it's all back ordered due to huge surge in demand

You may also check ebay

True, a good use case
Yup, that's the point.

Most don't realize that until they come across configuring openclaw or other agentic frameworks and then realize they've to use anthropic or openai via API (additional cost)

Yep, it's a well designed tiny, affordable and powerful mac that appeals to even non-technical folks
When released unified memory was a issue since they are not swappable with a higher memory sticks.

Now it's game changer when it comes to AI, you're right, it delivers performance for local inference

Are you talking about running agents or models?

What do you think of people buying Mac mini's to run AI?

Today during Apple's earnings call we heard they're out of mac mini's and back ordered due to huge surge in demand. We know barely any decent size models can run on it. Most of the buyers are buying to run Openclaw in complete isolation from their regular desktops or laptops.A VPS for few dollars/month will be sufficient to run tools like Openclaw. What are your thoughts on why people buying mac...
