I'm Alex. I've been building web, desktop and mobile applications for the last 6 years.

In 2015 I partially switched to data science: big data, nlp, machine learning, etc and it's become one more area I'm interested in.

I'm up for freelance (preferably, big and long-term contracts) jobs as well as remote ones.

I don't just do programming. Rather I solve your problem choosing the most appropriate tool and technology. I'm up for fixed-price jobs as well as permanent or long-term remote ones which are more preferable.

My average hourly rate is $30, but it might vary depending on the volume of work you have.

When emailing me, please provide the details of what you need to implement, your approximate budget and deadline.

for my portfolio. for the community. and maybe for myself.

Ask HN: Should I continue working a Ruby gem for Visa API?

I've begun working on a ruby gem for visa.com api and have made around 10 commits. Then, after a few days, I realized that visa.com will probably introduce its own SDK for the major languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, JS. And they'll, including one in Ruby, of course be de-facto standard.I wonder, should I continue working on my own ruby gem then?

I'm building a gem for it https://github.com/GildedHonour/frank_visa

An beta version should be ready pretty soon.

I'm an all-around programmer. I've tried breaking my passion off several times over the years, but a force bigger than I keeps bringing me back to programming. And it's been happening for 6 years. As a full-time freelancer I've been earning a living since 2012 living and travelling in other countries.

I'm also stoked about functional programming, finance (including crypto-currencies), data analysis, machine learning and cyber security.

I don't just do programming. Rather I solve your problem choosing the most appropriate tool and technology. When contacting me, please provide the details of what you need, your approximate budget and time estimate.

A very-very good audio, well made and interesting. Especially well made because of authentic noises and sounds. Very natural. Does anybody know of any other similar podcasts?

And I like the British ascent.

That can well be done locally
Re:Show HN: A simple API to store and retrieve JSON objects on Tuesday November 03, 2015 @07:44AM (#10499170)
and, what can it be useful for?
I figure the reason is because you've been charging too cheap prices for a long time, or rather always, and it's reflected in your job history.

If you've always charged $20, why would anyone pay you more now?

Some freelancers get paid $50-80/hour only, but you probably are going to be stuck with your current rate.

what's the language you do programming in?
