I happen to be in Dublin for the Node.js conference on September 8-13 and I'd love to visit any startup office or IT workplace there, maybe meet some passionate developers and share some ideas. Also, I'd like to have a coffee with anyone or/and maybe hack a MVP during my stay there. Also if anyone would recommend some cool places to see there and fun stuff to do I would really appreciate it ;)
I am in the same situation as you and I understand you better than anyone. Someone who is not in that situation doesn't understand and they will try to give you advice like make a list of tasks, use pomodoro or other technique...none of them work...email me if you found a solution...i was really thinking of going to Bali and train my discipline and brain with those monks there and have a better life.
really no one is answering to this?

I want to go 1 week in Dublin for the nodeconf and maybe hang out with some of you there. Anyone going? I plan 2 stay 1 week and maybe get some MVP going, who knows.
Maybe talk with other developers and go somewhere nice and code from there something fun, build a MVP...I would suggest going to Spain or travel around Europe and code on the road :) It will be fun for you and maybe you end up with a fun project after this experience.

After a lot of research I have found that I can make a service that NSA can't do nothing against it and it is 100% secure. The solution is based on a math algorithm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamir's_Secret_Sharing
I will bring this service to the world and everything will be saved :) Who is with me.?
from what I see 4chan is not a social network :)

Over the last weeks(since all the crazy stuff regarding the NSA) I was thinking of this startup that would be an anonymous social network. Well not 100% anonymous, your profile would be public/private with your data but everything you do and all your comments to other people will be anonymous(messages encrypted even in the database based on tokens). This would also validate the idea behind you...
Have u done some market research? Would ppl use such a system? Try maybe to get a list of 200 ppl that would use it and after that build it, maybe more devs will be interested in joining once a base customer list is set.
Maybe add your email in your profile.
"Hello! I'm a software developer working for a very large company" --> why not invest in a startup?Or in some good developers who can make a good product. I mean u know software development...why go and invest in domains that you do not know ?
why did your startup fail?
it was just a way of saying..not really a rockstart..contact me if you are good

Yesterday I moved to iwantmyname.com and wanted to buy a couple of domains from them. After I bought 2 I wanted to buy the 3rd a .io domain and in the meanwhile I had to transfer some funds from my bank and ofc the transaction with iwantmyname.com failed. Ok that is fine, I got an email saying that the transaction failed and I looked at my dashboard and after that moved to other busy things and...
That is just a planning board...how do you deal with everything else like time tracking and client management...or you just use other apps for each specific role

What project management tools and are you freelancers on HN use? Also how do you manage your client conversations because I have 1 client that sends me around 4-5 emails every day and my inbox gets cluttered.

If yes then send me an email. Based on my recent post and a lot of research in the couple of days I decided to make the startup fail project. If you want to share your failed startup story and get feedback from people in the industry that really know what they are talking about then send me an email.
As I said in my post failure is a learning process...I think 250$ is a good value if you learn something for your next startup and avoid losing your shirt again.
Ahh...it's in October...besides that conference I think there is a lack of resources focusing on failed startups.

Most of the time everyone talks about startups that made it and those that fail are forgotten, but is there a website where I can see more info about failed startups? There are a lot of talks on HN about failed startups but again most of them are forgotten and fade away.I am thinking of building such a directory where the founder can post his story and lesson learned. Many blog about it, many...
I would be interested in hearing more too. Shoot me an email.
Unless you want to build the next Facebook and want to have all the 1000000 features from day 1 you do not need a lot of money to build your prototype. You should stick to the lean methodology and build a MVP. You do not need fancy design build it with bootstrap or just use some templates. The idea is important, the product is important, the quality and the value of the product is important for any investor.
My advice is build your MVP and release it and see the feedback. Send emails to people in SV and show them your product, show developers your product because maybe some of them are from SV and will show your product to other people there. I am really not sure what your idea is about but do your really need a lot of money to make it happen ? If you are already working on a prototype that is great, it means that you will have something to show and if you have something to show than you can validate your idea into a product based on consumer feedback and if you can reach the validation step than you will find investment.

I left my high payed job 2 months ago and now I got an offer that is even better than the previous payed job...my dilemma is to take this job or continue freelancing and working on small projects for myself and looking for projects. The thing is it wasn't bad since I left my job, I have done some freelancing work and also some side small projects but the thing is I do not really like the part...
He has interest in developing but has no clear plan and as a client he doesn't know all the improvements that need to be made to a application every day in order to make it bigger so he will probably invest just in some small additions to the site like new features and stuff like that

I have been working for a client on a startup which at the moment is in testing on a development server and it will be released very soon and I really like the site and how everything turned out to work(mostly because it was my call on a lot of features). Even tho it was a regular client work I felt attached to the project and to the startup and I think it could have some potential with maybe...
My original concern was if someone would want something like this I would just make what I am using better and release it..thank you for your advice
Thank you for your answer...the thing is I want to publish just a simple 2 use free tool that maybe would help others, I am constantly thinking of small tools to develop to improve development workflow and tools that developers need so any feedback is welcomed.
