the numbers are just the number of hexes for each candidate, what you care about are the number of colored areas / colored squares. If you see 2 or more blue colored squares above the buttons, then the horse wins, which is what you want.
Palantir is a professional services firm, at trades very high,
I hope they open source it, just to play around with it.
It seems clear to me that they hope to some day own code storage (why wouldn't they) and this seems a pretty good first-principles attempt at it.
I don't think banning these type of psuedo-acquisitions runs counter to non-competes. I posted the other day about Augment, which I believe did the same thing.
"if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably a duck" should apply to acquisitions. These types of acquisitions leave employees (+ other shareholders) holding the bag. It should be illegal.
I'm very surprised they are not running with the runtime. That seemed like Deno's secret sauce? The rest of it is very aligned with Cloudflare already, deploy, kv, workers, etc seems like the lower hanging fruit.

there's a big one that i'm surprised doesn't get more attention: motion sickness. Several friends of mine have commented that they avoid Uber's that are Teslas, because they are so jerky. Hard suspension, super torquey drivetrains, rigid chassis (good!), and spartan seats make for a pretty uncomfortable ride as a passenger.
i've never once been excited to ride in someone's ev, though they are fun to drive.

> Better to be pinned in public with courage than to train endlessly in private like a coward. Ship that product
Funny, I didn't read this as career advice, but social advice. Like, get off the apps, get off the couch, go sit at a bar alone, ask someone to hang out.
IME switching git providers is
very hard, especially getting off of github. Most companies have insane numbers of integrations, automations, etc on top of GH. So yeah, its on us, but its also pretty simple algebra: does GH's downtime affect us more than the cost of switching? Most companies the answer is no.
When people ask why people aren't switching to Gitlab, ADO, Bitbucket, etc, I believe this is the reason.

Any FBers wanna talk about Meta's AI strategy? It seems... random.
Fair enough, I've never been involved in a CEO recruitment, I can't imagine the candidate pool tends to include people like the previous CEO of Bluesky
Just to say the obvious: the new CEO is a VC partner and former CEO of Automattic. That seems very bad, no matter how "committed" they are to the vision of Bluesky.
Yes, but its gonna be weird. I've done very tangentially related work with game controllers, and my suspicion is you're gonna have to try a few (dozen?) before you find one that even sends reasonable commands. I can imagine a FireTV stick sending game controller inputs. I have no idea, but that's the type of thing that might go wrong.
A MX3 air mouse might be the exact thing you want though.
Obviously not the main point, but I've been reading watch media online for over a decade now, I've read or heard this "Quartz Crisis" story hundreds of times and never ONCE read about the coincidence with the Bretton Woods agreement. Makes sense though, its basically oral history.
inb4 qwen is less of a supply chain risk than anthropic

More existential than going down a few times a week?
Agreed, we've all been there, but 4 hours! For a network config change. No one raised their hand and said "hey I just toggled this thing maybe we should look, I did it exactly when our entire region went had down"

if that doesnt tell me everything I need to know, what is everything I need to know
No, its because they are in the middle of a AWS->Azure migration, and because they cannot/will not be held accountable for downtime.
Didn't he (half) jokingly ask Anthropic to buy Tailwind a few weeks ago, right when Bun was acquired? Makes a lot more sense now.
No that has certainly been my experience, but what is going to be the forcing function after a company decides it needs less engineers to go back to hiring?
