Exhaust temp increase with decreasing lambda, and peaks at 0.7 lambda. That part of the model is likely incorrect.
Nothing in particular. Just nice to have structured data that I can start mashing together to show in a presentable format. Spreadsheets don't handle images and you can't run a report.

Ask HN: What's the best way to expose random CSV/.xlsx files for future queries

What's the best way to expose random CSV/.xlsx files that I can query in the future? We're house hunting and it would be nice have a local db to keep track of price changes, asking prices, photos, etc.And look up (local) municipal OpenData for an address and grab the lot size, zoning, etc.I'm using Airtable and sometimes Excel, but it would be nice to have a home (hobby) setup for storing...

Anyone know of any breakthroughs in treating peritoneal mesothelioma?
Not only was the driver sleeping, the car was exceeding the speed limit by 40 km/h (25 mph).

I was in the stands in the hairpin when I saw Kubica go flying by. Seeing his head bobbing from side to side made me think that he was dead. I managed to capture some pics of the crash and wrote a blog post about it, and other racing accidents.

I'd wager to guess that most would chose the Porsche. I know I did. You can see mine, which happens to be a 1973 911E as Paul chose for his article, here: http://www.octanenation.com/custom/1973-porsche-911/254/ OctaneNation is my startup.

Further evidence that the 911 is desirable: http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Repo... Mine sold for around $10.5k in 1973, and Haggerty says the average value now is $54k. Using an inflation calculator says $10.5k is equivalent to $53k today... Interesting.

The same Hagerty valuation tool shows the Cadillac is worth around $8k.

I'm leaning towards a platform where it's inherently a little more social. Care to explain why you think Squarespace is so awesome?

What don't you like about Posterous?
Re:What blogging platform do you use? on Friday January 25, 2013 @01:35AM (#5114332)
Some good points. Our 'branded official news source' is already up and running on a subdomain using WP.

I was thinking of writing blog posts that go into more detail about the technology stack we're using, A/B tests, customer acquisition strategies etc. These types of blog posts don't seem like a good fit on the official blog.

Your comments about focusing on the community vs platform/technology is a nice practical insight. Cheers

On a related note, what blogging platform does everyone recommend for discussing your startup? Discussion here: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5114239

What blogging platform do you use?

Inspired by the recent post about "What's your blog?", what blogging platform do you use?We started a (WP hosted on WPengine) blog for our startup at http://blog.octanenation.com/ and there are some behind-the-scenes posts that I would like to write that I don't think would fit well on the 'business' blog, similar to what Patio11 has done.Where do you blog about these things? I'm not crazy...

Re:Check your US tax rate for 2012—and every year since 1913 on Thursday December 20, 2012 @01:39PM (#4949185)
I've lived/worked in several countries, including the US, and my impression is that the US has some of the highest wages and lowest taxes in the world. So compared to the rest of the world I don't think the burdens are 'abysmal'.

Does anyone have links to articles that review this in more depth? A quick Google search didn't yield anything relevant.

Very impressive and bice background on the science.

I'd love to see him do the same with a nitro funny car... I saw one for the first time last month and it's impossible to convey the shear power that you can feel.

There's nothing illegal about minimizing your tax burden using lawful techniques.

Kubica's accident at Montreal was very scary. I saw it unfold befor emy eyes and managed to snap a bunch of photos. Your post reminded me of this and inspired me to write a Thanksgiving/Racing Safety blog post: http://blog.octanenation.com/news/an-automotive-thanksgiving...

Exciting stuff!

It's a complex undertaking and he will definitely learn more than his classes in high school!

Do you have any links to these studies?

We're building a site that relies on network effects and are considering offering only Facebook authentication, with perhaps other signups available in the future. Anyone have any good case studies on startups that went this route?
