Keep in mind some smart TVs will attempt to connect to open networks automatically so if your neighbor’s WiFi is open, you might end up connected anyway. I had a Vizio TV that connected to my neighbor’s fridge open WiFi (but not connected to the internet) and my TV operations became very laggy. I would buy a TV without smart features and without Wireless connectivity from a reputable brand (more a digital display than a TV) if privacy is your concern…
Genuinely curious why are tools like ChainGuard not more prevalent? I am sure there open source alternatives for it too.
Is the equity piece one-time or yearly grants? I think it is adding up yearly salary with one-time equity grants. Also, how about bonuses?
I disagree. Customer relationships, taste, creativity, tenacity, execution excellence, industry relevance, reputation, non-public data, etc... are all hard earned or intrinsic capabilities that matter a lot more than feature development speed/cost.
I have solved this a while back by connecting my ultra wide monitor twice to the same machine and setting up the monitor to side by side mode. From the OS perspective, it works exactly as if I had two monitors but without the physical bevel/edge in the middle. It is perfect, the only downside is that I lose two USB-C ports, instead of one. It also works 100% on Mac and Windows.
Wanted to drop a note that I have been using Sankey for the exact same use case for a couple years now. I use Google Charts and about 40 lines of JS code, then I export the SVG (or paste a screenshot) into my presentation slides. It is a bit tedious and error prone process but works great. There are a few bugs on Google Charts Sankey implementation as well that makes so that the order you enter items impact the visualization layout.
In my case, we do project level budget and it has to flow upstream so I need to ensure that the numbers add up. From my preliminary test, it does not look like I can do that with this tool (yet?). I want to enter the leaf / most granular level numbers and then do the group hierarchy and not have to enter every number from top to bottom.

GPT-4o is very fast but seems to generate some very random ASCII Art compared to GPT-4 when text in the art is involved.
Just to add yet another data point. Only my Public repos included. All my private repos are not included.

(1) Social media, (2) Screen time, and (3) Drugs, in that order.
Google is a profit seeking business entity just like many others and hence will do whatever they can to advance the interest of the company and its shareholders. It would be nice if companies had moral responsibility and societal accountability however that’s seldom the case in USA. The role of taking care of the people belongs to the government. Companies have choices but no obligation to do what’s best for you.
If you are using a free e-mail service ran buy one the worlds largest and most powerful marketing companies as the identity / auth provider for your critical services and applications you should seriously reconsider your choice.
To paraphrase your comment: I'm honestly not sure where we went so wrong as a society so as to reach a point that we get mad when a service we do not pay for, ran by a selfish company decides to shutdown our access.
+1, however, from what I read, the vulnerability can only be exploited if the attacker has network access to the salt masters port, which should never occur. The people that got compromised had Salt exposed to the Internet, which is obviously ridiculous.
Not trying to downplay the critical nature of the vulnerability but the ones that were compromised by this issue have deeper security issues to deal with.
“We’ve secured the impacted SaltStack service by updating it and adding additional IP filtering, allowing only our servers to connect to it.”
So this means they had Salt master ports publicly accessible? Why would anyone have salt ports open/exposed to public/internet?
Industry: Enterprise ERP tools and add-ons
- Developers: We use mostly java, swift, and JS (Angular 2) but we always look for polyglot developers, full stack developers, or whatever you want to call someone that see the language as a mean to achieve a goal and not the goal itself.
- DevOps: Deep ec2 knowledge and experience. AWS certification is a plus
After going for several minutes I gave up.
In addition to a leader board, it needs to:
- Have a time limit and see who can get the most calculations done on that fixed time
- or, have a fixed number of calculations and see how fast people can answer them
- or, it could get faster as you progress
The calculation of the "you are better than X%" needs to be fixed because everybody in my office was better than 100%
I get it that there is an infrastructure cost but shorter turnarounds seem to have worked for Southwest:
http://www.cnbc.com/id/43768488A 15 minutes reduction each way on a busy route might allow the company to run an extra leg or two.
I went thru the code and some of the info on GitHub (1) and it is still not clear to me how it tests all the different JVM settings for a specific application.

What I can't get my head around is the fact that we only use one of the plane doors to get in and get out. Internationally we see some airlines using two doors.
Gals, stop sexualizing men in your mockups
It would be interesting to see another column on the table with some sort of criminality metric per 100,000 people.
