Defining schemas in zod and using z.infer<> to get my types is just lovely, thank you!
How does it compare to playwright mcp?

I'm working on a Dutch dictionary for immersion learning; https://hetnederlands.com. Structured outputs combined with react router renders a chain of thought on demand. With most "learners dictionaries", you're limited to the basic words. This enables getting a perfectly laid out learners dictionary explanation of any word in the entire language.

A learners dictionary for Dutch https://hetnederlands.com

Learn Dutch through immersion, look up any word and get lots of examples in very simple Dutch.

Just having a lot of fun playing around with LLMs and language learning basically.

Re:I send myself automated emails to practice Dutch on Saturday December 28, 2024 @02:17AM (#42529229)
just pure o4 mini in a sequence of prompts. I haven't done any fine-tuning or involved any dict api (yet), but the accuracy/quality can definitely be improved from there.

For dutch, I would use something like van dale or woordenlijst (het groene boekje), both have free online versions.

..videoland ;)
Re:I send myself automated emails to practice Dutch on Friday December 27, 2024 @02:37PM (#42525321)
I love this idea!! I'm working on Dutch learning as well and made a learners immersion dictionary for it;

So going by the screenshot in the readme where you have vaststellen; https://hetnederlands.com/dictionary/vaststellen

The things you can do with language learning and LLMs is just incredible :)

Re:The 70% problem: Hard truths about AI-assisted coding on Friday December 06, 2024 @03:28AM (#42337636)
The "eager junior" takes 1-2 days to come back with the solution, AI takes 3-4 seconds.

No, I want it to be great, and if it takes over lives, then surely it must be great.

this comment actually prompted me to finally download and install the factorio demo, been hearing so many things about how it takes over lives! :)
Re:Show HN: Wealthfolio: A Private, Open-Source Investment Tracker on Saturday September 07, 2024 @01:17AM (#41471609)
So what happens when I buy more of a stock? I need to go update my wealthfolio right?

How does it do with pension accounts, mutual funds and various other things that may be difficult to add using a major exchange ticker?

Re:Founder Mode on Sunday September 01, 2024 @12:22PM (#41418116)
I have done the building in quite a few of these.

Often what happens is that the engineering that made it a cool demo in the beginning, is pushed aside, and once funding and a variety of product managers and sales people start chiming in, users and genuine value proposition is forgotten in favor of things that sound huge for the business, in theory. Not seen it materialize in practice yet.

Firefox for mac and firefox focus for iOS is great.
Re:What’s in a PR statement: LastPass breach explained on Tuesday December 27, 2022 @12:25PM (#34151024)
And of course they have a new version where they are constantly asking you to store credit cards and addresses, unless you dig deep into the settings to disable those constant prompts.
There was a movie etc, and people know his name, and how hw knew about the crash, when nobody else did. So it attracts clicks because people want to know this time. Bloggers/journalists are interested in clicks.

Re:Launch HN: Payload (YC S22) – Headless CMS for Developers on Wednesday August 31, 2022 @04:32PM (#32667976)
Looks great! I've been looking to avoid rolling my own admin for my hobby project, which is mongo based, and very much driven on certain db schemas and collections. Adding CRUD and simple admin views to the mongodb will go a really long way, and the flex to throw in some react sounds great. Glad i found this!
Re:I hate what video games have become on Monday March 28, 2022 @04:00AM (#30828246)
I played apex legends for free for nearly a year before buying any silly cosmetics. Granted, now that i do i am hooked and have overall paid more than if i had paid 60 for apex to begin with, but i think its a good volontary subscription model. And since there isn't any pay to win aspect, i'm totally fine with this business model.
An intense psilocybin trip took me to the peak of it, I accepted it, and was then shown the other side, and how completely ridiculous it is. Once shown the path it still took me some time to walk it, but gradually in the 2 years that followed it faded.

I'm not saying the solution is psilocybin. I'm saying that the solution (for me anyway) is to put yourself in a position where you experience tons of social anxiety, and accepting that you are anxious, and not try and fight it, and feel it for what it is. An alternative could be public speaking training, like Toastmasters. If you keep going every week, you are destined to improve.

YES! I have been wanting a solution to automate some of my simpler web-scraping needs, that also need an element of human control. Thank you for making it so i didnt have to :) Cant wait to try it out
the very idea that you can be sued for making a tool to help people automate their computer use is such bs. Isn't computers kinda about helping people simplify and automate things to begin with?
Now would be a great time for facebook employees to leak everything.
