Show HN: Riace – a hands-free interval timer I built while getting back in shape

https://apps.apple.com/it/app/riace/id6760669387

I always wanted to be a developer, and it was quite long time that I was planning to get fit and change my habits (smoke, fast food, alcohol, and so on)I run a food business (American style potato rolls), and definitely I'm not a developer, even tho I've been working as project manager for a decade being the intersection between designers and developers. At the end of 2024 something changed in...

I'm the founder and UI/UX designer behind this iPhone app for vinyl record diggers - https://apps.apple.com/it/app/disco-fm-vinyl-audio-preview/i...

The app is in a coma state because my co-founder/developer had to leave the project.

I'm looking for an iOS Developer that want to take over the project with me and build new features. The app is built in Swift and Firebase.

Currently the app has few daily downloads and users (in total subscribed about 3000, which 1000 of them paid $1), we got covered on MixMag, Resident Advisor and many other music related websites.

I got some features already designed that just need to be discussed together and implemented.

Yea I was looking at Riverside.fm and I think it's the best tool around, still need the parties to be on a laptop and Chrome.

Will check if Google Voice works easily in Italy.

Ask HN: VoIP for Podcast App

I'm thinking about an app to create podcasts simply over the phone. From what I see there's a bunch of interesting tools to make podcasts, but in the end they all require some sort of setup on both sides, or access to a laptop, or else.Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't there be an app where you simply call your invitee and record the call that will become the podcast itself? Then can be...

I'm not a developer, but this looks great! Just curious, how does it works for music rights?

Funny enough I'm looking for a developer too for my app about vinyl records, posted here too.

I'm looking for a co-founder/iOS Developer/vinyl record lover to continue working with me on https://www.discofm.co — https://apps.apple.com/us/app/disco-fm-vinyl-audio-preview/i...

It's an app for vinyl record lovers currently live in the App Store with over 3000 downloads, daily usage and downloads and that has been featured in many music related websites such as Resident Advisor, Dj Mag, Mix Mag and many others.

Currently the use case is limited, but I've been working on new features and ideas that I'd be interested in discussing with a potential co-founder.

The vinyl record market is bigger than it seems (https://www.businessinsider.com/americans-spending-vinyl-rec... — sales in this article are based only on US and without all the used market, which is huge) and currently the only player in the game is https://www.discogs.com

If you're interested, or know anyone who might be, contact me at [email protected]

We’re looking for a tech co-founder for a project about vinyl records. The iOS MVP app has been launched, got over thousands of paid downloads, reached second on App Store top paid music app, gathered interest from major magazines about music (Resident Advisor, DJ Mag and many more) and a couple of accelerators. Now we’re looking to add features and improve it to start monetizing. If you’re passionate about vinyl records and have exceptional skills on iOS, Firebase Suite and React, we’d love to discuss.

Re:Ask HN: Investments on Vinyl Records? on Friday May 10, 2019 @05:24AM (#19876285)
Yea I agree with surprise effect for sure! I do that too.

But I must say that in multiple occasions using the app both saved me some $ and helped me find some gems that I would have never expected just looking at the cover.

Btw, happy to share a free download code if you want to just give it a try! 9NRRW9AKKXX3

Now it's a simple tool, but we're working to make it a more complete tool for vinyl collectors. So, feedback is always appreciated/needed.

Haha that's an awesome comparison.

Yes, Ziari is correct. We help crate diggers to make a better informed decision.

Re:Ask HN: Investments on Vinyl Records? on Wednesday May 08, 2019 @04:48AM (#19857027)
Good point!

So, the app is actually a tool to "find the next gem of your record collection".

We don't want to replace the vinyl experience. We're making easier the process to find and buy cool records.

Now when you are at a flea market (for example) you can only blindly purchase a record because it inspires you, or you know it, or you have to jump from Google to Discogs to YouTube to preview the tracks to see if it worth the money.

With Disco Fm you can preview the record in 2 clicks. If you like what you hear, you buy the record.

Our users are using the app to find records or to catalog their collection.

Re:Ask HN: Investments on Vinyl Records? on Wednesday May 08, 2019 @03:17AM (#19856583)
At the moment you need our app when you are at a record store or a flea market with thousands of records and no turntables to preview them.

Instead of jumping from Google to Discogs and YouTube you open our app, snap a pic of the barcode or search by cat number/release name and we give you the full tracklist with audio and video preview

Happy to share some free download codes if you're on iPhone

Ask HN: Investments on Vinyl Records?

Hello,Me and my two co-founders we're working on an iPhone app (for now) for vinyl record lovers and collectors. We're having good traction and retention, testing some different pricing model and looking forward to a monthly subscription plan. The industry is a niche, a bigger one actually, and it's 15 years that is constantly growing. A mix of nostalgia and need of the people to own a physical...

SEEKING FREELANCE : Remote

Looking for a Shopify developer to work on a client store with the design already made. I need just code basically.

Please contant me on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/filippomursia/

Hello everyone, I'm very happy to share with HN community the latest project I've been working.

As a vinyl collector and DJ, I often found myself at flea markets looking for records and searching on YouTube the tracks of my finds to see if the record worth it. It's very time consuming and annoying. So, we built Disco.

It's a simple tool to use when you have thousands of records in front of you, and no turntables to preview them.

Open the app, scan the barcode or type the release name to get the full tracklist with the audio preview. Magic!

Here's a preview to see how it works

Download: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/disco-fm/id1412383956?mt=8

And some iTunes code to save you $1

Any feedback and ideas from vinyl record lovers of HN are greatly appreciated! We're planning new features, but we'd love to know what people expect from a tool like Disco.

Thanks, Filippo

*fun fact: I launched years ago the first mobile social network for vinyl record lovers, it was called Needle Vinyl (RIP).
