Yeah, it's like you can create different circles of friends to target your messages to

How do you check for those things in an interview? I'm not suggesting you can't, I'm genuinely asking.
Re:Slack Is Buying HipChat from Atlassian on Thursday July 26, 2018 @10:22PM (#17623011)
You and I have had very different experiences with Hipchat. The search is terrible, the integrations are worse, the mobile app hardly ever sends me notifications when it should, there's almost no customizability, the native app randomly drops messages. For me, Slack isn't hype, it's simply a better product.

What's the difference between using this and using graphiql?

Have you tried the new UI?

Re:Build Yourself a Redux on Friday May 05, 2017 @12:17PM (#14274568)
I like this resource specifically because it's such a large list. If I'm exploring a new topic (e.g. styling react components), I want to have a lot of articles to look through. Google doesn't cut it at all for me in situations like that.
Re:Why I Hate Object Orientated Programming (2010) on Thursday December 11, 2014 @10:30AM (#8735243)
I stopped taking this article seriously after the first two sections, neither of which are problems specific to OOP.
Re:Google Nears Smartwatch Launch on Tuesday October 29, 2013 @11:18AM (#6634727)
This sounds like a similar argument that was made against tablets a few years ago. Tablets aren't inherently much different than smartphones, but there are some things that just make more sense to do on a tablet.
Re:Salesforce $1 Million Hackathon on Friday October 25, 2013 @01:18PM (#6612944)
From the official rules: "Participants may begin forming their teams and working on their entry...as early as October 25, 2013."

"Second through fifth prizes may be awarded their prize (in the case of teams, to the team leader) in the form of one or more gift cards."

Do they plan on telling people what the gift cards could be for or are they going to wait until teams have worked on their submission for several weeks?

Re:The Case Against High-School Sports on Friday September 20, 2013 @03:59PM (#6420121)
Too many people here seem to be missing the point of the article. The title is "The Case Against High-School Sports" not "The Case Against Sports". The argument is whether an academic institution should be spending so much of its (potentially tight) budget on athletics and whether it should be glorifying athletic accomplishments so much more than it does academic accomplishments.

I've played sports, both in-school and out-of-school, almost my entire life and I love sports as much as anyone else, and I think the article makes a valid argument. Sports are great and kids can learn a lot from them, but I don't think school-affiliated sports over many benefits over club-affiliated sports, and even if they did, I question whether those benefits outweigh the costs of schools putting so many resources into them.

edit: I was missing a word

Re:Things I Despised About My Education on Sunday February 10, 2013 @03:55PM (#5197853)
Does anyone have suggestions for good books/websites where I can learn more about education and our educational system? I'm really interested in trying to make it better, but I don't feel like I know enough yet to come up with significant changes.
