ChatLLM support QWEN, do you consider this as US safe?
Re:Tesla Is Sitting on a Record 50k Unsold EVs on Saturday April 04, 2026 @10:13AM (#47639251)
Tesla's FSD problem isn't the technology, it's the positioning. It's genuinely good at what it does but selling it as "Full Self-Driving" set an expectation it can't meet. If they had framed it as the best safety feature, always aware co-driver watching out for you, people would trust it far more and adoption would be much higher.
Maybe the solution is a referendum that would allow forcing elections at any moment
Re:Why "all-in-one" productivity tools confuse new users on Saturday December 06, 2025 @11:10AM (#46174391)
I had the exact same experience with my web app, about 10 years ago.

My conclusion was that productivity forums are more of a support group than a place to find users for new concepts.

I built an app that is 100% flexible to adjust to how you want to work, and I think most people expect such an app to tell them how to work and it has to be simple.

AI is becoming a populist; the next step is a demagogue.

Would lidar detect such debris?
Re:I tried every todo app and ended up with a .txt file on Monday August 11, 2025 @10:37AM (#44864606)
This is a concept I tried to sell many years ago, it is not available, but I still use it and believe this is the most flexibility in todo list. Will be happy for feedback

Not sure exactly what you have in mind as a solution for small businesses, but I’ve been working on enabling small businesses to achieve a high level of customization with minimal effort by leveraging Google Sheets and the Google Apps Script environment.

Re:Why Facts Don't Change Our Minds on Monday November 04, 2024 @01:20PM (#42044472)
The insights gained from artificial intelligence about neural networks can help explain why facts often fail to change our minds. Repeated exposure to certain messages strengthens the neural connections that support them, embedding these ideas deeply in our memory and influencing our perceptions and beliefs. As a result, when we encounter facts that contradict these established beliefs, the brain is less likely to integrate the new information. Instead, it relies on the well-worn pathways created by repeated messages, making it challenging to replace old beliefs with new facts. This process shows how repetition can entrench ideas, creating mental resistance to changing perspectives even when presented with solid evidence.
The experiment in California is much better. Give a contractor $2500 per homeless person per month for a tent in the park. Data suggest that this increased the number of apartments the contractor owned, as well as the number of homeless people, which will then increase the number of apartments the contractor can buy
I am writing a low-code tool for Google Apps Script and Google Sheets.

Developed in pure JavaScript and can work in both desktop and mobile browsers.

It includes a custom front-end framework that completely eliminates the need for front-end coding.

The tool also includes many features such as a shopping cart, signatures, and fully flexible forms.

Development with this tool does not require a graphical interface, so ChatGPT can handle most of the development.

There are two such projects (both are not active anymore) that I was hoping at the time to get some feedback, good or bad

1. Centask - flexible task manager fully integrated with gmail (I am still using it)

Best video explainer I could came up with - https://youtu.be/RBBPbIkgWUU

2. Postwaves - social media with distributed moderation, I lately realize the algorithm is very similar to tiktok, except that for tiktok video's you vote by how long you watch a video and not by actual vote (much harder to get)

Let the crickets be heard (I know I am bad merketer)

Re:Ask HN: What podcasts are you listening to? on Sunday August 14, 2022 @08:08PM (#32464395)
I scan Apple Podcasts Best History Episodes once a week (other topics are available) https://chartable.com/charts/itunes/us-history-episodes-e459...
Few years ago I experimented with a social media in which User-submitted posts become visible only after filtered and ranked by random anonymous polls sent to sub group of the community.

It requires members to vote once in a while but eliminates biases and increase diversity.

I got some activity but did not have the time to keep alive and experiment. I still think the concept have potential, maybe someone will refine it one days.

When in doubts, do the right thing.
I developed my own gmail app script to accommodate my personal workflow, where all tasks and task-related information, including Gmail inbox, are organized and scheduled in the same hierarchy.

Here is why I think it makes me extremely efficient

1. I can group and nest together Emails, to-do’s, files and links that are related to the same goal, my lists are now much shorter and manageable and I can focus on my goals instead switching between gmail, todo’s etc..

2. Since my gmail Inbox is fully integrated with my to-do list, I don't need to manually and tediously maintain and synchronize them.

3. Scheduling a goal with sub-emails and tasks hide them and bring them back when I need them. This further reduces my clutter and makes sure I will not forget anything.

4. I can organize my plans and thoughts as I organize and drag inbox Emails, To-Do’s and Ideas into their related tasks.

5. Since every email has a natural place in my task hierarchy, I can quickly empty my Gmail Inbox and deal with email when dealing with their related tasks.

What made it stick for me was processing my gmail inbox (which I must do), inside my todo list, which quickly created a habit.

BTW I tried to market the solution and gave up, either most people think different or I am just a bad marketer.

Re:Ask HN: Name one idea that changed your life on Wednesday May 06, 2020 @03:06PM (#23095004)
My personal realization that Evolution is the other “theory of everything”, with the exception of the laws of physics, evolutionary processes are shaping everything, including progress in science, economy, history, politics, ideas, social, emotions, religion, etc.
