It sounds like you and I are having very different experiences in the AI era.

Good luck

If that works for you great but I am where I am in my career by helping everyone I can around me. Making my team and the company better pays dividends and you stand out from people that only work for themselves.

I wonder if chemistry skills will be an emergent behaviour of world model research.
Re:OpenAI O3-Mini on Saturday February 01, 2025 @09:01AM (#42898335)
This is the mini version which is not as good as o1 and I don’t think they demoed in the o3 announcement. I’m hoping the full release will be impressive
Re:OpenAI O3-Mini on Saturday February 01, 2025 @07:30AM (#42897840)
Did they even think about what happens when they get to o4? We’re going to have GPT-4o and o4

There’s also https://www.notificationapi.com/ as a non free option
Re:Inflection-2: the next step up on Wednesday November 22, 2023 @01:44PM (#38383319)
Why? You’re not going to be running it on your own hardware. As an end user all that matters are the results.

Do you have a source for this?

I’ve found v4 to be much better at following formatting. If I put “reply with code only” in the system message then I don’t get all the explanations.

The system message is completely useless in 3.5 though and you’re better off putting your instructions in the first user message.

I haven’t used v4 in production yet though because it is so slow. I really hope they speed it up.

More likely, there's other work that the employee could be doing that will help your company grow

Do you expect a headline to tell you the whole story?
Re:USA buys up world stock of remdesivir on Wednesday July 01, 2020 @12:16PM (#23703153)
That compound in particular is used to help replace a C-OH bond with a C-CN bond. It may seem like a weird chemical but it's very commonly used in organic synthesis.

> Why wouldn't the same but with a more typical fully-carbon backbone work?

Because a fully carbon backbone would not be as reactive and would not attach/detach from the intermediate as needed

Another great channel to follow is Rob Avis https://www.youtube.com/user/VergePermaculture

He's an engineer from the oil and gas industry and he's excellent at designing for energy efficiency

Ask HN: Scaling a Traditional Business

I own a small optometry clinic with my wife and we're reaching the upper limit of what it can provide for us with the current business model. All of our income comes from eye exams (we don't sell glasses or other products) and our doctors are fully booked so the next logical step is to get more space and hire more doctors. Being a software developer I am trying to find ways to increase revenue...

There will certainly be maintenance costs during that 20 years though.

I do like the idea that as PV efficiencies improve you only have to swap out one cell per dish

Re:Solar Fire Breakthrough on Sunday May 08, 2011 @07:30PM (#2526978)
Have any idea how much a ZenithSolar unit costs? Apparently they've given an Israeli community of 1100 people a surplus of electricity with only 16 units.
Re:Solar Fire Breakthrough on Sunday May 08, 2011 @07:04PM (#2526930)
Zenith Solar is certainly more advanced. Thanks for pointing it out.

The difference between the two projects though is open source vs proprietary. Zenith looks very impressive but Solar Fire is meant to put solar power cheaply and easily into anyone's hands. They are both worth following IMO

They have a TED Talk which is exciting to watch as well

http://www.ted.com/talks/marcin_jakubowski.html

Doesn't work for Chromium 10 on Linux unfortunately
Does it apply to amazon.ca?

edit: just read the FAQ. Hope to see support soon.

There is no way to close the "Currently available cities". You should add an X or allow it to disappear when the user presses Esc or clicks outside

Really great site though!

Anyone have experience running a niche site in a language they don't know?

I know this sounds a little ridiculous but lets say that you are an expert in something that isn't very niche or difficult to learn about in English but the market is not so saturated in other countries. If I could find someone to reliably translate my information (either outsource or partner with someone) do you think I could effectively sell an ebook? Any tips on how I would research the...
