Mobile GPUs use tile-based rendering. A long thin triangle touches more tiles, so it costs more. That could make you think you need to use Delaunay all the time. But the gain from nicer Delaunay triangles on the GPU is small relative to the time you pay for Delaunay on the CPU. I've measured time profiles on map data. It could be that for games it pays off.
Numbers without benchmarks are useless. :)
During vector map generation we make sure that all data is valid. But our users can import custom GeoJSON layers and they could contain all sorts of self-intersections.

Hey! Thanks for Leaflet, earcut and all your other work. I hope some of these ideas turn out useful. Take a look at the branch-free dent count: it's what let us outperform earcut, and it's a big part of why the wasm build is that fast.
The wasm module is 27 KB gzipped, about 41 KB with the base64 wrapper in the npm package.

Hmm. Passkeys are advertised as secure because they are difficult to hack. And since they use the same API as hardware security keys, I can store passkeys on my YubiKey for critical infrastructure.
They’re secure, stored in iCloud, and can be used from any of my Apple devices. And if I need extra security, I can use a hardware key instead. What more could I ask for?
I understand why passkeys are being promoted so heavily. They’re secure by design. Otherwise, companies have to think about all the possible ways their authentication systems could be compromised. And even then, they can still get hacked.
Passwords are weak. People can be tricked into revealing time-based authentication codes. But passkeys? They just work. Your grandma can’t read one out over the phone or write it on a sticky note next to her monitor.
Funny to read claims like that on techradar, that showed multiple pop-up frames around the 'article' and on top of it. But they haven't added an image of that 'ads'. No you have to read and try to understand what happened.
What I miss there is specifics about bugs. One side says: „oh there are new commits authored by Claude and I see new bugs. rsync is dooomed”, Andrew replies: „I’d better be sailing, but we’ve refactored test framework with Claude and I know how it works and I’ve been cautious.” It would be great to see analysis about those bugs. Why, how and when fix is expected. Only this part is important IMHO.
Not necessarily ads. It could be patron style funding. In lichess style, when patron receives only badge, or patreon style, with extra games, skins, stats for patrons. Good luck with a great platform.
After this article I installed AdBlock Home to my HA unit and moved DHCP to it. Filtered LG domains and few thousands others. Apparently LG TV actively uses internet even in switched off state.
Initially my account was registered for sole proprietor in Belarus. I’ve changed linked legal entity when moved to Poland. That was almost a year ago.
But there is no sanctions against all citizens of Belarus. Yes some companies that support regime of lukashenko are under sanctions. But not everyone. I moved from Belarus due to lawfulness in my country, living in Poland and now I’m under sanctions? That’s insane.
Moreover, I’m citizen of Belarus, but living in Poland, tax resident of Poland. My developer account is tied with legal entity in Poland and bank account in Poland. I was banned too. :/
I’d prefer to remove my app from being used in Belarus than being banned myself.
There is no pure python out there. It's python with bindings to the highly optimized C code. It would be fair to say it's C gives you almost million of RPS in some tweaked tests.
Wow, now tell me how H.265 works!
Any alternatives for Dropbox Sync API?
We're based in Minsk, Belarus. I was in Karlsruhe on SotM-EU'14 recently, and I like shape of the city centre. It's looks beautiful on map. :)
It's custom msgpack based tile format + sqlite.
GLMap.framework made for offline maps on mobile devices. Most of it written in C++11, and we can't port it to JavaScript + WebGL.
As far I know Mapbox works on WebGL map rendering solution.
Yes, we'll add Android support later this year.
Glad, you like it. And thanks for MapCSS. ;)
We are small team from Belarus. Developers of Galileo Offline Maps (
http://galileo-app.com), and framework was made from vector rendering engine developed originally for Galileo.
It is allowed only to NSA. :)
Thanks! I'll correct mistake with "less points".
But I disagree with whole country download. From one side it's good to have map of all country, but you'll have to download 2Gb, it will take 4Gb on your device, we'll pay much more for traffic, and finally you'll never visit all states in USA. :)
Waiting for more feedback.
May be later this year. Now we focused on best possible iOS app. Engine is written in C++, and relatively easy to port to Android, but app itself also requires lots of work.
Glad, you like it. :)
We use old icon for iOS6 devices. For those who don't like flat design we keep old good 3D icon.
And there is also a confusing bug in the App Store. It shows old icon for iOS7 devices, and new one for iOS6. But when app is installed it displays correct icon.
There is a lot of OSM-based maps, free and paid. I'm developer of one of those apps:
http://galileo-app.com It works offline. Sharing based on url-scheme and our service. Search result destroyed as soon as you clear search field. :) And many more features.
Check it and tell here or directly via email [email protected] your opinion or ideas about improvement. :)
p.s. It's iOS only.
