Senior/staff systems engineer, 20+ years, three times Chief Architect. Recent upstream work: two changes merged into OpenZFS (one a data-integrity fix in txg numbering), TURN over TCP in webrtc-rs, an RTSP interop fix in retina. Before that, a distributed edge platform in Rust at Zyte and a detection platform at Trend Micro.
Looking for: a senior/staff systems, storage, or security role, as an employee in Spain (through an EOR or a Spanish entity). Also open to short, fixed-scope reviews — cryptographic protocols, security-sensitive Rust or C — the kind of code that compiles, passes its tests, and is quietly wrong.

Senior systems engineer. Twenty years of C and C++, eight of production Rust, PhD in computer science.
I work close to the machine. Linux device drivers written from scratch, an SPDK bdev module for NVMe-oF, and block-level firmware for encrypted storage where power loss mid-write was the normal case and a partial write still had to leave something recoverable. I moved a production hot path from epoll to io_uring. Before that, a detection service in Rust handling millions of events per interval across fourteen regions, where throughput and availability were the whole job.
Recent public work, if you would rather read code than a CV:
- signalscreen-checker — Authenticode signature parsing in pure Rust, on crates.io. It documents two mistakes the obvious implementation makes. - pqc-embedded — what post-quantum secure boot costs in flash and RAM, measured on hardware rather than estimated. Includes two corrections against my own published conclusions. - A patch to scottlamb/retina, found by pointing an RTSP client at a camera that writes the same SSRC in two different bases.
Looking for senior, staff or principal systems work. Full-time or contract. I am hands-on and want to stay that way.
The root cause I was certain of was wrong

Senior/staff engineer, 20+ years, three-time Chief Architect. My rare intersection is PhD-level applied cryptography + production Rust + byte-level reverse engineering — the person you want reviewing crypto or security-sensitive code (human- or AI-written) for the subtle flaw that compiles, passes tests, and is quietly broken. Recent work: led a greenfield distributed platform in Rust (Zyte); threat/malware detection at millions of events/sec as Chief Architect (Trend Micro); a Rust→WebAssembly content-protection module; founding engineering on an early-stage L1 (BFT/PQ/ZK); and low-level firmware/RE consulting. Open source: capa-rs / smda-rs / dnfile-rs (Rust ports of the FLARE binary-analysis toolchain) and condition-control (embedded Rust). Looking for: senior/staff Rust, systems, security, applied cryptography, WebAssembly, or blockchain/protocol work. Full-time or contract. Happy to talk

Senior/staff systems engineer, 20+ yrs. I've been the person who introduces Rust into production teams and architects the core platform that others build on: threat-detection backend processing millions of events/day, SOAR security platform, and distributed browser/peer traffic platform. Cryptography PhD with real applied work. Open source: co-authored capa-rs, smda-rs, dnfile-rs. Looking for: senior/staff Rust or security engineering, remote EU or worldwide. Immediate availability.
