I’m looking into different uses of 3rd party APIs that you use to replicate your data locally and how companies use the data. These are the ones we keep syncs of internally:- Shopify - lowlimits, inconsistent schema - Recurly - pretty easy to use overall - Facebook - easy once you get into it - Sendgrid - nice API

Re:Ember.js Data Adapter for elasticsearch on Tuesday August 14, 2012 @10:21PM (#4384130)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ember.js a client side only framework?

So unless you are planning to use this on an internal dashboard or something, what stops anyone from dropping your index if you expose 9200 to the public with ES? Or am I missing something?

It's an interesting visualization, but thumbnails of the sites for HN links just don't seem that powerful to me.

The power of a HN post is the text.

If you could implement something like what Arek is asking that would help.. maybe change the background of the tile from blue to red depending on the popularity?

Looks great, signed up for the beta.

The logo though.. way too busy. Maybe it's just me, but I can hardly read it.

Re:2 Days Loss From Transfers Out Of Godaddy.com: 37,000 on Saturday December 24, 2011 @05:19PM (#3389848)
Ok.. This is either just way off or I'm not reading this correctly. They had nearly as many transferred in than transferred out yesterday.

Transfered In (20,034) Transferred Out (21,054)

1020 domains is nothing particularly comparing it to the total pointed there: 32,159,050

Re:Show HN: Laminated Bus Schedules on Saturday July 16, 2011 @10:22AM (#2770804)
Nice project! Just needs a little bit of design and color?

Color coding the North bound and South bound grids (From what I can see?) would be helpful.

Ok this is the answer I was looking for - but a bit unexpected. I can certainly understand an NDA for working there, but interviewing? ok...

As for comments farther down, it's a case of curiosity like I said - corporate/company culture, not their products. I think that's relative no matter what the company size is.

Ok ya, I understand it's a secretive culture. But plenty of people talk about going to, and getting rejected, at other places also...
Re:Ask HN: Will you or anyone use this service? on Thursday October 21, 2010 @10:14AM (#1815424)
I think it's a great idea. As aitoehigie said, there's a lot of less technical developers out there that don't want to handle that stuff, but want something more custom and/or powerful than a base vps or managed hosting service.

Just find a way to whitelabel it yourself.
