Re:Breaking Claude Code Opus 5 Auto Mode on Monday August 31, 2026 @06:28AM (#49508003)
Maybe it is used in the wild, but we just don't know.
Now that we have foldable phones, is there a (round) digital globe (like the classic ones) which I can control with an app and for example show me the current world map with "live" weather and all flights from flight radar? If such a globe would exist I would buy one even for a couple of thousand dollars. Just to have all kinds of "live" maps directly in front of me on my desk.

Re:Looking Ahead to Postgres 19 on Tuesday June 30, 2026 @10:44AM (#48733422)
No word that PostgreSQL 19 introduces native application-time temporal data support based on the SQL:2011 standard? https://www.depesz.com/2026/04/02/waiting-for-postgresql-19-...
Same for Telegram. A couple of years ago people (Phd kind of people) pushed me into using Telegram because "it is encrypted and secure". I checked, and was like... What? AFAIK just transmission is secure (of course, I mean like what traffic is not secure nowadays), but the message are stored plain text on servers in middle east? And the whole thing is operated by a Russian? Like wtf? And people are like "Telegram is totally secure".
Re:Codex for Open Source on Sunday June 14, 2026 @11:07AM (#48527938)
Same here ~13k stars. Never hever heard back from them. So frustrating.

Also applied for Codex Open Source - within 2 days I got confirmation and using it since then. Great Job OpenAI! Shame on you Antrophic for not even sending out a refusal message with the cause.

If you are on a M1 or M2 chip you can live the dream _now_ already and install Asahi (Asahi Fedora Remix or Asahi Alarm https://asahi-alarm.org/ - which I am a maintainer of). It works really great (daily driving it since 4 years now...) M3 support is coming soon as well...

I am on a Macbook Pro M1 Pro running Asahi and a 28 inch external display via USB-C / dp alt mode as of typing this comment. They have a `fairydust` branch in their kernel repo which is meant for devs to test and hack on dp alt mode support, but it just works for me without problems.

But do you print with this machines? Like do you send them print jobs? If not, you are still fine.
Re:Java 23: The New Features Are Officially Announced on Wednesday April 17, 2024 @09:12AM (#40064110)
No, the feature set is not finalized. This is just a random blog post, nothing more. Like who says "New Features Are Officially Announced"? Which source? They make it look like Java 23 is done, but it's not.

If you want see what's coming in Java 23 you have to check https://openjdk.org/projects/jdk/23/ - the only source of truth. If you look at the Schedule of that page you will see at least before Rampdown Phase One there still is time to add new JEPs. And there will more JEPs be added for sure, that's how it was done in the past.
