Mac M1, llama.cpp and pi harness.
TIL about Cornell notes, thanks. For someone who is as clueless as I (was): https://www.goodnotes.com/blog/cornell-notes
Something like sonatype nexus could mitigate that
Re:Ask HN: Do you need Google ads help? on Friday August 21, 2026 @03:25PM (#49392770)
Would be interested in a similar thing, but for Meta ads.
Re:Ask HN: Is it just me or is Claude Code getting worst? on Wednesday April 29, 2026 @10:24AM (#47948904)
Can you provide any links to discussion?
Heads up, this is a paid course.
Re:Ask HN: Looking for Headless CMS Recommendation on Tuesday September 02, 2025 @11:55AM (#45104770)
IIRC Strapi is a great option for green field projects. C/p from their docs:

"Strapi applications are not meant to be connected to a pre-existing database, not created by a Strapi application, nor connected to a Strapi v3 database. The Strapi team will not support such attempts. Attempting to connect to an unsupported database may, and most likely will, result in lost data."

Unfortunately, most of the time I do not have such luxury. What are the CMS options for pre-existing databases?

Re:Interview with the Creator of Deluxe Ski Jump on Wednesday April 02, 2025 @07:46AM (#43555678)
So many fond memories of DSJ. Thank you Jussi. No other game kept me and my friends playing as much as DSJ.

Fun facts: Since Slovenia is being mentioned, recently Domen Prevc set the world record at 254,5m on the largest ski jump in the world in Planica, Slovenia. His sister Nika Prevc won the World Cup this season with a record difference in front of second place. They're both related to Peter Prevc, yet another ski jumper. The whole Prevc family is amazing. To crown everything Anze Lanisek got 5x20 (highest grade) for his jump also in Planica, Slovenia this season.

excalidraw as already mentioned above

Yes it is. Water freezes and provides protection from freezing cold as funny as it might sound. Of course watering systems for huge gardens or orchards are expensive even if you have access to enough water.

Why would that qualify as 'memory'?
You can query CSV with DuckDB
Re:The last Python Architecture you will ever need? on Sunday December 03, 2023 @08:02AM (#38506765)
As far as I understand this is Python specific.

Most monorepos I work with do not use a single language but many. It's pointless to use multiple tools for the same thing instead of one that works with all languages, like nx for example.

Re:Tesla Normal Operating Sounds on Saturday November 25, 2023 @12:14AM (#38411395)
Some ACs use exactly this method. Haven't found any other household appliances that use sound for diagnostics.

Re:Ask HN: What Tools for a Distributed Node Application in 2023 on Wednesday September 13, 2023 @08:29AM (#37495839)
Nx for start
Re:From Python to Elixir Machine Learning on Tuesday July 25, 2023 @05:57AM (#36860101)
At first I thought what does Nx (nrwl/nx) has to do with machine learning, then I figured context is about Elixir lib named Nx.

Naming things is hard.

Re:Ask HN: How to generate PDFs from the back end? on Monday May 08, 2023 @08:42AM (#35860920)
ReactPDF (https://react-pdf.org/) if: a) React is an option b) you (can) use nodejs on backend c) PDF preview is required on frontend (optional) d) you need to generate same PDFs on backend (optional)
Re:Cachix 1.3: Nix uploads unleashed on Wednesday March 08, 2023 @01:55PM (#35073208)
Domen, love the work you're doing.

You're more than welcome to share your wisdom about nix and everything related to it at our meetup.

Been working remotely (mostly) for the last 5 years. My favourite solution to this problem is joining a local coworking place. I work from my home office by default and when I need some socializing I go to the coworking place. Best of both worlds.
Re:Ask HN: Freelancer? Seeking freelancer? (November 2022) on Tuesday November 15, 2022 @08:51AM (#33609126)
Applied and we agreed for intro meeting, person on the other side seemed excited to work with me and I was as well. Interesting project, get paid to do open source stuff - what's not to like?

Got ghosted for two times, first time it was a holiday, agreed to reschedule. No harm done. Second time ghosted without any further explanation or apology. There might be a better suiting candidate or something else came in between, completely understandable but there are better ways to handle these kind of things.

TLDR: not meant as a complaint, just as a warning to others. Not everyone is in the same timezone as you are.

n8n or code your own
Second Playwright. Autogenerated code is a mess, still better than nothing though.
Re:Ask HN: What do you use as the “internal admin UI”? on Friday September 02, 2022 @06:57AM (#32689174)
In my experience and the projects I worked with too much time is spent for custom backoffice / CMS. Retool is seems like a super power, but it's almost impossible to get buy in for that if some custom solution is already in place. Regardless how much (over) time is spent maintaining that custom solution.
Is using Poetry or pdm, even pip tools linked above not a viable solution?
Distinction between singular, dual and plural. Only few spoken languages nowadays share that same trait.
Re:Ask HN: How do you test ideas before building? on Sunday July 10, 2022 @04:55AM (#32042941)
Care to explain how would observing that work in practice? There's no ISBN, so you can't track rentals. QR or URL would not give "real" results.
Re:Ask HN: How do you do Load Testing this 2022? on Sunday July 10, 2022 @04:02AM (#32042721)
GoReplay seems worth trying out https://goreplay.org/

Unfortunately, haven't used it beyond demo. Yet.
