Or monero or hundreds of other currencies.

Re:Announcing Ethereum and Litecoin vaults on Thursday September 21, 2017 @04:36PM (#15307101)
Not exactly.

'All digital currency that Coinbase holds online is fully insured.

'Coinbase holds less than 2% of customer funds online. The rest is held in offline storage.'

They only insure less than 2% of their coins. This does nothing to protect private keys that go missing or are destroyed in their offline wallets.

I would love to know that I'm wrong.

ugh. even their 10 digit code they provide to unfreeze someone isn't very secure. It's simply todays date plus a 4 digit pin that moves up in the order that someone signs up. For example: 090817xxx1, 090817xxx2. So my wife and I are simply two numbers apart.
Re:Ask HN: Why is it hard to find a wife now-a-days? on Saturday June 10, 2017 @11:31PM (#14530463)
What about an Indian dating site or app? I met my now wife through okcupid a few years ago and we couldn't be a better match. My dating life before okcupid was non existent. I also had a hard time online and took a lot of work but I don't think I would have went on as many dates with people that matched the attributes I was looking for without using a website that filtered out a lot of that. You can easily exclude the drinkers, smokers, etc. There will be disappointments but it's a numbers game and you'll find someone if you keep at it. There's a lid for every pot as they say.

If that doesn't work maybe ask your parents to do a traditional Indian wedding where they do match you with someone. But I'd go the online route first if your family isn't traditional.

Good luck!

When I use the sha tool against google.com, it shows them using SHA-1.
Re:Coinbase user emails and full names leaked on Tuesday April 01, 2014 @10:45AM (#7508557)
That was my first thought. This feels off, I doubt Coinbase database was hacked and this is just using their API flaw and some previously leaked email database.
Re:My run-in with unauthorised Litecoin mining on AWS on Monday December 16, 2013 @11:21AM (#6915695)
It was created as a joke altcoin, but some people actually desire it. Most likely to flip it, or just to say they own some.
Re:Ask HN: SF Hackers where do you work out? on Thursday December 27, 2012 @01:03PM (#4974287)
No, wish they did. But nobody is complaining if you just drop them on your olympic lifts. They haven't changed the carpet since the 70s, you can see where everyone else drops them.
Re:Ask HN: SF Hackers where do you work out? on Thursday December 27, 2012 @02:23AM (#4972694)
Valencia Street Muscle = cheap and more free weights and barbells than any other gym I've seen. But is old school, broken and dirty. I guess thats what I love about it.

Embarcadero YMCA, also pretty cheap (compared to equinox and other alternatives in SF) and I go here to go swimming and play basketball and lift before heading to work. It's clean so the fiancee will go here (but not valencia st muscle.. where someone in nothing but a codpiece once worked out next to her)

Clicking on bellbot.com with headphones in... not recommended. I almost crapped myself.

I see that prize just increasing the number of bad referrals that they receive.
