Re:Show HN: Jido 2.0, Elixir Agent Framework on Thursday March 05, 2026 @01:25PM (#47265270)
I've been following this project for several months now and Elixir/BEAM is absolutely perfect for running agents. BEAM is so incredibly lightweight; IFYKYK. Theoretically you could run 1000s of agents on a single server. I'm looking forward to seeing what people who understand this build.
That is pretty awesome... I can't believe how much Bitcoin has grown in the past 6 months. Kicking myself for not investing.

Facebook has lost it... they seem to have completely lost focus on what they are trying to do. They just made their user experience even worse by adding more crap.
Would love to hear anyones thoughts on my blog post. Thanks in advance!
Re:Albert Einstein possibly used Cocaine, LSD and DMT? on Tuesday June 05, 2012 @08:30AM (#4068345)
I understand Einsteins use of drugs is speculative. But, the article isn't necessarily just about Einstein, but about all the great people who we have great respect for that also use drugs.

Re:The Gentleman's Agreement on Thursday March 15, 2012 @08:54AM (#3708179)
We're still collecting our baseline data at the moment, but we have implemented the design features into our community that should create more interactions of upvoting and removing content the user finds relevant.
Re:The Gentleman's Agreement on Thursday March 15, 2012 @08:37AM (#3708112)
With the new project I am working on we're attempting to create a content filtering algorithim that can determine the content a user likes based off of previous interactions of upvoting and hiding content from their feed. I think with enough interactions and utilizing a user grouping system, the majority of irrelevant content could be filtered. Assuming the community is large enough and provides an adequate amount of feedback.
Re:How did your start up survive during its infancy? on Monday June 06, 2011 @01:21PM (#2625501)
How much did it slow you down working a job and working full time?

How difficult was it to transition to working your idea full time? Letting go of the income supporting you?

Thanks for the reply!

How did your start up survive during its infancy?

I am curious to know how typical founders survived while in the initial development period of their site/startup?Currently, my partner and I are looking at developing our idea and we are still trying to determine how to dedicate the time needed to build a beta version while also trying to earn enough money to live. We would like to put forth full effort towards the idea right now, but in order...

Re:Where can I connect with a good technical co-founder? on Monday November 22, 2010 @12:00AM (#1928768)
I'm plenty techy my friend just not a coder. I graduated with a degrees in electrical engineering and physics. I currently develop nano-materials for the military. I understand the culture and have friends that code, just looking for someone above and beyond, plus building a company with a friend is always the best strategy from personal experience.
Maybe a better idea would be to help profile individuals interested in start-ups and connect them with users who will compliment there idea. I think there are many people out there with great ideas and non-technical skills that need to connect with people that have excellent technical skills in coding for instance. I'm sure there are users in the opposite situation, great technical skills, but lacks the ideas and business skills to truly build a company. If you had some sort of hub or central place for people to offer there ideas and contribution safely, and the hub would then help connect them with their compliment(s) co-founder. Like a co-founder dating site, but with actual people in center helping making connections with one another, not a computer.

Where can I connect with a good technical co-founder?

I am business minded person with a need for a good technical co-founder to help take this idea to a prototype. I have experience with web development, but not to the extent which I currently need. Where should I go to find an adequate technical co-founder? I live in Charlotte, NC.
