The entire employment system veers towards these biases. It's shown even in simple things like "you'll need to give us 10 minutes after you're supposed to be finished working this evening, but don't you dare consider taking 10 minutes off tomorrow".
I kind of like the idea from a few years ago, where there was a tagline under the logo of some web sites on every page, to explain what the site is.

The "tree" objects that git uses to track state, are they hash trees?
How would you synchronise between versioning the symlinked assets and the app itself? Or do you just keep all images, for example, until you're simply sure you don't need them anymore?
Exactly. You can choose what to put money into, over time.
True. I maintain a Windows virtual machine on Linux just to be able to use banking sites that require Java. the sites don't seem to ever work on Linux, even with the proprietary Java libraries installed.
Jeez, it should have gotten more attention in any case.
Goalsontrack.com is one, it attempts to link your long-term goals with everyday tasks.
Nice to see a fellow language educator. Very interesting to see your translation and audio outsourcing to Elance.
We've done something for the Irish language, which has its own pronunciation complexities. The site itself is very simple as it is, just wanted to share in any case: http://www.pronounceirish.com/
We struggle with our name: Bitesize Irish Gaelic.
It's a language learning tool.
The Irish language is called "Irish" in Ireland, but often "Gaelic" elsewhere (depending on who you're speaking with).
The name we've ended up with is a mouthful of a compromise :)
I don't know if there's a fix for that...
What are the top single page apps that you have?
One close to this implementation that caught my eye this week for its design is http://deploybutton.com/
Even clicking through to the link, it loaded faster than I could Alt-Tab to the next window.
If an email was sent to a mailbox that wasn't being checked, it doesn't matter how many emails were sent. I don't know if it's the case, just guessing as one possibility.
Come to think about it, that's true. Often I'd click back, and the page would fully reload, and not bring me back to the same scroll position.
How does this work in the context of the book "The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing"?
> If you have a small market share and you have

> competitors, then your marketing strategy was
> probably faulty in the first place. You violated
> the first law of marketing.
> The basic issue in marketing is creating a

I have often wondered: where do dying birds go to die?
Except for roadkill, I don't see dead birds. I'm guessing under some shrubs, where they hide away weakly?

I'm not connected with it, just came across AppCobra:
http://www.appcobra.com/There's also:
https://trigger.io/What do you think about using such a tool to create apps for mobile devices? The alternative, it seems, is to have an app created specifically for a certain platform.

We're considering using a wiki to host some internal business processes. Is there a popular SaaS solution for wikis?Obviously, the alternative is always to host (and maintain) privately on our server.
I don't understand the full concept. How does this compare with platforms that allow you to set up affiliates?
One thing I have noticed is a delay in tab completion with the `git checkout` command.
In my plain gnome-terminal with git it would instantly autocomplete when I pressed tab.
I would have the same challenge - TinyMCE gives me a way to link to other pages (the list of other pages is generated by a script).
I wonder how you could add such help on top of a Markdown editor.
On a related note, does the voice get intrepreted on the device, or on Google servers?
Nice!
Too much vim in my browser at once. Vimium didn't like interacting with the window, and interpreted my typing with a back-button action.
How do you keep track of such changes across machines? In a dotfiles git repository, and making a symbolic link to your git configuration stored there?
I can't read the content on my small Android screen, zooming in hides the blog content.
Amy, Patrick, what's your opinion on working in a fulfilling full-time job while building up revenues, compared with consulting while building up revenues?
There's scarcity in spending time with a particular person, for example. Meeting their producers sounds like a good "exclusive" bit of interaction, but I agree about non-exclusivity of content.
So the question is, has 12.04 made a leap in the right direction, enough for it to be at least as good?
