Best Mobile (VIDEO) ad networks?

I've been looking around at different mobile ad networks that are focused on video ads. It's hard to find specific numbers on CPMs for each ad network. Thus, I was wondering if anyone knew which ad network has the best CPM rates?I've seen that millennial media has $10--$35 CPM for Video ads.Other mobile video ad network's I've looked at: Vdopia, AdColony, Vungle, YuMe, & MobFox.Any help or...

I see! What type of companies are you looking for? Or are you looking for startups?

good luck =)

I would recommend checking out some other start ups that may be of interest to you. You should try attending one of the tech meet ups: http://www.meetup.com/sfnewtech/
Re:Will successful Self-Taught Programmers please stand up? on Thursday April 07, 2011 @01:30AM (#2418324)
I'm in college, 20 years old. I've just started teaching myself ruby and python. Do you think I would be able to develop crude prototypes of apps by the time I graduate college? (in about 2 years?) I've been dedicating around 6-10 hours ever week so far and plan to dedicate more once summer starts.
Re:Ask HN: Launching a startup. To-do list? on Tuesday April 05, 2011 @03:41AM (#2410080)
1) start a landing page using Unbounce.com and reach out to some 1st degree connections to be testers 2) start gathering some data to validate your idea--talk to the people around you and ask them questions that revolves around this topic. 3) If it's a Web app, maybe start working on the mobile UI 4) Research competitors (I would check out Okcupid), partners, financial prospects, etc. Learn the industry and do you homework!

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes!

Re:Ask HN: How to pick between 2 amazing ideas? on Tuesday April 05, 2011 @03:35AM (#2410070)
I totally agree with this and if I had to choose between two ideas.
I haven't but I think everything has a reason. If you're really passionate about this idea than keep pushing.
Re:Ruby editor? on Sunday April 03, 2011 @12:37PM (#2403114)
Thank you, Vim is definitely helpful!

Ruby editor?

I'm looking for a text editor to save ".rb" files, but I can't find any programs out there that are free... Most are 30 day trials. Is ruby installer suppose to come with a text editor program?Apologies I'm just starting to code and a bit unfamiliar with how to go about this.

Re:Ask HN: Leaving college to work on a startup? on Thursday March 31, 2011 @11:19PM (#2394790)
hahaha I agree with dropping facebook.

Cheers to you from Georgetown Univ!

-Almost went to Babson... =) Let me know if you're ever in DC, I don't have tech background (currently learning). However, if interested in bouncing ideas... I have PLENTY.

Re:Ask HN: Leaving college to work on a startup? on Thursday March 31, 2011 @11:15PM (#2394780)
Man, I have the same issue. However, I've decided to stay in school for the time being.

(20 years old, like the other person)

Reasons for not dropping:

1) YOU have a HUGE MARKET. Who know's other college students better then you or myself? Market your product to your peers and use them as your test pilot. VALIDATE your ideas.

2)Also, if you've come up with various ideas and keep coming up with them then you won't miss out on anything. Sure things may change, but also ideas grow and you create new ones.

3) If you're in Washington, DC contact me.

Re:Am I getting a good deal? on Thursday March 31, 2011 @11:04PM (#2394766)
I agree, with phlux, if you're contributing to some of the IP. Then you deserve a lot more or at least partial ownership to the IP.
Definitely work on telling your story. I think thats the most crucial part in creating an imagery of who your consumer audience is.

Also, have you been valued at a price yet? I would be slightly weary of negotiations over equity if you are in your micro stages. Just because it's easier to be valued higher over time. (I.e. you're easier to go from a value of 0 to 10 million then from 1 million to a 10 million valuation) If you're in your infant stages...I would stall it out for awhile, but that's just my 2 cents. =) hope that helps?

Ask HN: Rak Group Private Angel Fund?

Hey HN,I recently received an email from our Entrepreneurial group on campus about job opportunities at a "private angel investment fund." I made a google search and their site is targeted towards commercial real estate investments. Here's the blurb we got: "Seeking entrepreneurial undergraduate or graduate student wanted who is excited by and focused on social media and other Internet...

Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Wednesday March 30, 2011 @01:54PM (#2388342)
I would like to focus on doing Mobile development. I was told by a previous post to try doing Eloquent Java, HTML5, and then DOM scripting (In that order)

My goal is to build an application similar to TripIt(travel advisor), but tailored towards education.

I didn't realize you started a post too. Here's my link: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2380810

Thanks again! I definitely take a look into it!
Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Wednesday March 30, 2011 @01:19AM (#2385941)
Thank you so much for your help! I found some books that I will be using and I will definitely still be needing more advice down the road. Here is my blog I started, if you'd like to see my progress later down the road:

http://mindfulhack.wordpress.com/

I just want to thank you again for all your advice! It's very helpful!

Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Wednesday March 30, 2011 @12:25AM (#2385797)
Haha Thanks! Don't worries, I'm a guy. I usually not a book person, but in this case...it just seems to be more helpful in the state that I'm in.
Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Tuesday March 29, 2011 @02:26AM (#2381642)
Thanks for the recommendations! Do you have any recommendations on where to start. I'm currently in college and trying to take this on as a hobby. I wish there were ways to learn these languages a lot faster (like matrix, just plug it in), but I realize I need to spend a decent amount of time to actually pick it up.

Also, any recommendations on whether I should try to be building mobile apps or web apps as my end goal?

Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Tuesday March 29, 2011 @02:21AM (#2381629)
Also, do you have any recommendations on whether I should have a end target to build mobile apps or web apps? I know the mobile app industry is growing, but I'm not sure which path to take. Is there a specific language targeted towards mobile app vs. web development? or is it the same background?
Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Tuesday March 29, 2011 @02:20AM (#2381625)
wow. I think I might start a blog too... This really motivates me. I kind of wish I started 9 months back, but I haven't really joined the workforce yet...still in college. So I guess i still have some time?
Re:Best program and books to learn how to code? on Tuesday March 29, 2011 @02:16AM (#2381615)
Thanks! This is exactly the advice I needed! I'm majoring in business, but I realized I actually really love computer science; however, I think if I majored in it then I wouldn't really love it anymore.

Starting on HTML!

Best program and books to learn how to code?

Trying to learn how to code. I've heard a lot of people recommend ruby and python. Is there any specific books or programs people might of use that may be helpful? or suggestion of other languages? Planning to spend about 6-10 hours a week.

Just curious for future reference, but does the age of the non-technical co-founder matter to you?
Re:Ask HN: How do you use your commute time? on Monday March 28, 2011 @04:50PM (#2380028)
