Indeed, I will. It’s a massive turn off and I wish apple had an alternative.

Re:Ask HN: How to say no to a GitHub issue feature request? on Saturday August 06, 2022 @05:27AM (#32366462)
Say "no", block said user. If he needs the software to do things that it currently doesn't he can either fork the project or use something else altogether.
Re:On a MacBook, how do I use only the external screen? on Saturday July 30, 2022 @06:32AM (#32285674)
Clamshell is the only way. Or just not put app windows on the MacBook display.
Re:Ask HN: How’s iCloud Private Relay? on Monday April 25, 2022 @06:35AM (#31152675)
It caused Google Maps to completely crash, might have something to do with Wipr being enabled at the same time. I haven't looked into it much, I just disabled Private Relay and that's that.

It's enabled on my phone though, as I rarely touch the browser there anyway.

Created it from scratch using Jekyll.

I pointed my MX records to iCloud and quickly forgot about it soon after. It works for my needs, which are really not that complex. I can receive and send email, have a 'family' calendar shared with my wife, and it's all included in the price of what I was already paying for iCloud storage. To me, it's a good deal.

I would say having the exact same keyboard shortcuts for interacting with windows, panes, etc for both your desktop as well as any other machine you work with is worthwile having.
Re:Ask HN: What services do you pay for every month? on Sunday September 19, 2021 @02:27PM (#28586669)
iCloud storage, Spotify, Netflix, 1Password, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Nintendo Online. I like to keep this list as short as possible.
Re:Ask HN: What's the best Linux distro for fullstack development? on Thursday September 09, 2021 @05:32AM (#28467905)
Since you don't have a lot of experience with Linux yet I would suggest Ubuntu (pick the latest version over the LTS one) since it has great documentation and instructions on how to install just about anything.
Re:Visual Studio Code Comes to Raspberry Pi on Friday February 12, 2021 @04:35PM (#26118829)
The same goes for every repo by that definition. The only solution is to download tarballs and compile everything yourself.
Re:Visual Studio Code Comes to Raspberry Pi on Friday February 12, 2021 @09:59AM (#26114303)
You're mad because your Raspberry Pi offers you the possibility to install a piece of software you have no interest in? Microsoft can't track you if you just simply... don't install vscode. It's that simple.

How is this post flagged.
I've been using Dropshare for a long time. It just connects to a Digitalocean droplet over SSH and transfers files into a directory. https://dropshare.app/
