Show HN: MyADMonitor, open-source tool to track live Active Directory changes
https://github.com/mihemihe/myADMonitor
myADMonitor is an open-source tool I created to provide real-time visibility into Active Directory changes. It's particularly useful when executing bulk updates or running operations where you need to analyze AD modifications as they occur.Key features:Real-time tracking of Active Directory changes Portable tool for easy deployment .NET backend using ASP.NET Core 8.0 Web API. Runs on localhost...
So, I am pretty sure this system will be effective in the long run. Right now, it just seems like a trial, which may require fine-tuning, but fast forward a few years, and everyone will be completely accustomed to it.
I read yesterday that for kubuntu it will take months.
Active Directory monitor tool that tracks changes committed in real time.
I used it internally when I had to do bulk changes or when I have to replicate AD during migrations.
Right now I am working on a new frontend which I will be integrated to the tool soon.
Taylor Swift PROVES that the square root of 2 is irrational
I have created a KSP mod with ChatGPT 4 and no experience. (Prompts included)
I really think if you make this more prominent it would be better. Just personal opinion.
It would be nice to have also a simple "how it works" section in the front page. Anything related to stream video with a third party involved generates always privacy concerns, so having a simple schematic of how and where the video stream data flows would be great.
Ask HN: Why there are no new symbols being created, like one for concatenation
As an example, plus(+) symbol is used in several programming languages for string concatenation, provoking some unexpected behaviors in some cases. One example that illustrates this is: 5 + 1 = 51, but 5 - 1 = 4 (my intention is not to discuss about whether this is right or wrong)Why no one is creating and proposing new symbols to fix these inconsistencies? I have the impression that our...
I wrote that wishing I could have read something similar myself long ago.
In the same line, I was constantly living in my head, which is something I guess happens quite often to everybody. "Tomorrow I will start doing this", "By the end of this month I will achieve this", and these kind of thoughts. If you are thinking about changing something all the time, do not bother, it will not happen.
My plan to get out of this destructive loop was a bit extreme, but it worked, so I share it with you as well:
- I took 2 months holiday (I run my own business so it have some impact but I managed it well)
- I traveled abroad, in my case to Thailand.
- I spent the first weeks indulging myself with fancy eating, going parties, relaxing in pool and beaches, Tindering around, etc...
- Then I booked 2 weeks in a Muai Thai gym camp in the northern region, far from the civilization.
- I spent that time just doing hardcore exercise, eating the camp food (healthy plan), no smoking, no party, no drinking and going to sleep at 9 PM.
- After this I kept going to the gym and adjusting to my new way of living, and so far, everything is working out.
- Browse internet (Reddit, hacker news, or whatever site that was popular back then) - Gaming - Learning some IT stuff, either related to my job or not - Coding
Few months ago, I have started to get out of the screen and doing something else because that way of living was literally killing me. I got extremely lazy, a bit overweight, atrophied muscles, back starting to bend, procrastinating more often, having brain fog more often, not having enough social life, losing communication skills because of not having contact with other humans.
I started running, going to the gym, doing weights, pinging friends to go visit them, reading books not related with IT, going to organized running events during weekends, cooking, and other activities, going to smoke outside the house/hotel and definitely allocating some time for my old past-times(internet, gaming, coding, learning). This has completely changed my life:
- I feel more energetic, sleep better and wake up fresher. - I reached my ideal weight - I am getting my muscles toned and increased flexibility - I have have found joy on doing things not attached to a keyboard and mouse (like cooking) - I have improved the relationship with my friends. - And in general I am happier than before.
I do not know how old are you, or if your question was intended to look for fancy things to do in your free time, but, I can tell you honestly:
Please, DO NOT stay sit in a chair after work in an isolated environment for the next years to come. Hit the gym, reconnect with friends, look for alternative hobbies, and reduce the time dedicated to the screen. Your 20-years older self will thank you.
The only thing I have not been able to achieve is stop smoking. Many tries, no success, but I hope I will achieve this by the end of the year.
Let's imagine secession wins with a 52%, and everybody decide to divide Spain. This means 48% of the people are going to be taken their Spanish passports and citizenship off, and they become just Catalans. This opens a can of worms in terms of stability of the region, which may very easily end up in another civil war, like the one that happened few decades ago.
Another solution would be to split Catalonia in two regions. This definitely will end up badly, taking in consideration how resentful Spaniards have been through their history.
I do not know if this quote is originally from Bismarck as some people claim, but he rightly said:
"I am firmly convinced that Spain is the strongest country of the world. Century after century trying to destroy herself and still no success’"
They closed other sources such as websites, and VPS hosting mirrors. You cannot simply "close" WhatsApp or Telegram or SMS, that is not how it works, unless you just cut the service for everybody, or go down the rabbit hole of chasing hundreds if ad-hoc groups.
Still, the real victims here are the 50%+ of Spaniards who want to remain being Spaniards. In my opinion, while there are people who want to continue being part of Spain, the government is doing right protecting the law and shutting the secessionists down.
They used this app to organize violent riots, taking advantage of the pacifist demonstrations organized by the pro-secession political parties.
The big problem in Catalonia is exactly that the ratio is around 50%-50%, but the status quo is that Catalonia is part of Spain, so the pro-secession will keep protesting, and the government shutting them down, and more important, defending the 50%+ of Spaniards which live in Catalonia and want to remain part of Spain. No one talk about these ones!
